I must have checked the wrong box or did something else stupid but somehow my LAX - ORD - CMH - ORD - CMH - ORD - LAX got put under my AAdvantage membership number and QF won't allow me to claim the flights?

Has anyone else had something similar happen and found a way to fix it?

If you haven't taken the flights, ring up QANTAS and get them to remove the FF# numbers.

Then you can readd them online.

If you've already taken the flights, then you have to make sure that you haven't been credited anything in AAdvantage, and pass this information along to QFF. Then they can manually fix it.

Unfortunately the flights have been taken, and AAdvantage credited the flights:-| I suspect that it may have been a cookie on my computer that linked my AAdvantage number in when I booked it. I'm starting to think that I've kissed those points goodbye as I hardly use AA anymore and the SC's would have been much handier with QF

Just realised that those extra points might be the difference might get me to Platinum with the travel that I have planned between now and the end of April - which wouldn't be too bad an effort seeing as every flight has been in Y.

Would seem as if you’re out of luck. I doubt AA would be keen to remove the miles from your account and Qantas then keen to add them to your QFF account. Worth a shot maybe?

I have had miles removed from QFF and booked to AA.

ASk, then ask again, then ask again and never ever give up!

Can't help to keep trying as I've nothing to lose.

It would be useful also to show that all other flights on the same itinerary went to QFF and that there was no fare differential that would indicate game playing.

I've just emailed AA to see if they can remove the flights, and hopefully this can be sorted out. I will point out to them that the rest of the flights went to QF - thanks for the tip!

Well I got a reply from AA today - and unfortunately it's not very helpful:(

Thank you for your email to AAdvantage® Customer Service. I appreciate
the opportunity to respond.

We are sorry to disappoint you, but mileage may not be transferred from
one program to another. Since your travel on American Airlines and
Qantas has already been credited to your AAdvantage account, we are
unable to delete the miles from your account to enable them to be posted
in your Qantas account. This prohibition is quite common in the industry
and, we believe, fair and reasonable.

Thank you for participating in the AAdvantage program. We appreciate
your business.

Regards,

Bekki Warbler
