We plan to fly out of Perth to Melbourne using our Qantas miles, so after looking at a few options we found a flight operated by Jetstar that seemed reasonable. Went ahead to do the booking and was redirected to Jetstar's website to complete the booking. All up we'd have to pay about $100 in cash extra. Still not too bad and that's when the problem started.

After entering all passengers details to go to the payment page, we ended up with an error message. Called up Jetstar to report and they asked if we wanted to make a booking. So we said sure ... it's more convinient anyway ... After spending 20 minutes giving out details the rep told us we can't book through Jetstar using the miles and for us to call Qantas instead! Still persevering at this stage, we called Qantas who told us they'd be very glad to help us but they'd have to charge us about $200 for booking the flight on behalf of Jetstar! How appaling! And here is the icing on the cake - the error or problem on the site has been around since the 17th May!

So now I am left wondering what on earth are these two companies doing? They don't mind chucking passenger on either flights but when you use your miles, you can book with one of them and be charged extra because the other cannot help you with your booking! And here I thought a reward program means loyal passengers do get rewarded?

What is/was the error happening? Also booking an Any Seat Award or Classic?

I don't know what it is ... But every time I tried clicking continue after filling in passengers' details I get a message saying [error:100] if the problem continues please contact the airlines. And I have been trying to book the flight since 3 days ago ...
