I need to get to DPS on 26 dec
jetstar is horendous in *class one way
VA has a 1200 fare( still horendous)
what is the seating like using premium fare? is it much different?
Im on a wait list for sing air syd sin dps in j but that will prob clar if ever the day before travel - not really acceptable .
any thoughts?

Well, if they've got the business class seats in place by then you should be fine. So far I don't think they've rolled out any in the long haul (except on the Airbus), so you won't find any reviews of the product long haul on the 737.

If it's still PE seating then there are lots of reviews. That's a pretty long flight for the current PE seats, IMO.

I wouldn't be flying JQ no matter what. DJ or relatives would be acceptable if I could find a decent seat. I can't see a VA fare out of SYD at all, how are you doing that?

I'm trying to find a way to DPS from PER at the start of 4th quarter this year but its been pretty frustrating. Lots of LCC options but I'd prefer to go elsewhere than to pay too much for an extremely poor flight experience.

I'm thinking of SQ too, though PER-SIN-DPS seems like the long way. MH also seems to do a decently priced J seat from here, via KL of course, so again, a bit out of the way.

I should ask the pertinent question - how much is too much for the flight in PE or J? PE on JQ or DJ doesn't appear to really be worth the money.

No its not PE its a premium fare so i am submising it is like PE?
or at the front of the plane

im not sure, thats why i asked.
The MAS fare is 2400 ret in J but 5 hr wait in KUL and too far out of the way.

have to leave 25th at about 10pm which is doable
I am returning from USM via BKK using UA F award 60K.

thats why Im not really wanting to buy a return.:D

Strategic? $764 direct in J.

Yes, I saw them appear on my radar but know nothing about them. The price looks pretty inviting. I need to do some research. Anyone know if they have a lounge/lounge share arrangement at PER?

No lounge arrangement which isn't much help.
Dare I say it have you looked at Garuda? I've heard nothing but good things from people who have flown them of late, plus the 738s they've got on PER are all brand new- may be worth a look?

I did some web snooping on Strategic. If I can believe the web blurb in at least some ports they are lounge sharing with NZ. The Strategic website is quite immature for the retail travel market though and offers nothing useful.

Again, judging by blogs and general web blurb, looks like they offer a J- experience, so, better than Y+ :) Old planes, old seats, but good amount of space with quite adequate if not inspiring menus. Some concerns surrounding delays and mechanical issues, not sure how widespread though.

Which segues me into Garuda. Like you, I have been hearing good things about their hard and soft product in recent years. Pricing is exceptionally competitive, but the dark shadow of problems in the past (and not that distant a past) makes me quite cautious.
