[SUP]I was just looking through the old Qantas product manual from the 90's and found the layout of the 767 with first class. Is there anyone out there with some photos of the 767 first class cabin? I have tired searching the web with no luck. Attached is seat map.[/SUP]

Can you get your hands on an old safety card as well? What did they ban on Qantas before Furbys?

Wow! What an interesting layout, cutting a cabin down the middle - I also would be very interested to see a photo, great find nufnuf

A little bit more history bit not much
QANTAS Boeing 767-300

More titbits gleaned:

  • Business class was on the left side with 17 seats in a 2-1 layout (must have been one row with just 2 seats to make 17), with the single seat next to the wall. First class was on the right side of the wall with 3 pairs of double seats (total 6) against the windows.
  • It was 2x1x2. The first class seats were about the same width, but at 60'' pitch instead of 38''. It was 6x17x212. It was quite a unique configuration.

I'm more amused by the "no smoking" designated seats. I don't recall flights in the 90s smelling like a casino but then perhaps all the second hand smoke fogged my memory!

Cathay's 747-200 employed a semi split cabin with first class extending beyond door 1R but the space was only used for accommodating washrooms (the other side of the cabin was used for business class seating). Otherwise several 747 operators continue to fly with a split cabin between doors 1 and 2 with a galley on one side and business class on the other (TG is a common example).
