Got a quote from Qantas Hols on 17/8 to LA for 2 weeks (Disneyland, accom. and a coach tour). Yesterday I rang to vary the accom. to fit in with the pick up for the coach. Going 11/10 QF11 return 23/10 QF12. Phone agent then proceeded to formalise booking but couldnt get the QF12 trip at the "special $",so is costing an extra $500 each at present (not paid for yet).
She advised I go to their Office as the Sales Agents have more authority to allocate seats at prices. I will do so on Monday, but was just wondering if anyone knows what our chances will be ? Interestingly I can still do a dummy on sight booking at an equivalent "cheap" price. Both QFF but will be paying for this trip. Appreciate any thoughts.

You could book it through the website.

If you visit an shop agency there is a surcharge of course, but minor compared to saving $500. Just make sure you have a quote (preferably done on the same day) printed out from the website when you visit the shop on Monday.

Just an update, went to city office, (1.5 hr each way), Sales officer did all the "looking up" etc, and phoned Q.Holidays. After much discussion between themselves couldn't raise the quoted fare and suggested I buy the online air ticket and have Q.Hols do the land content. If only someone had suggested that on Friday! I didn't know could be done separately as I thought it would be some kind of package. Anyhow I returned home, got the online tickets, phoned Q.Hols changed booking to land content. Good (better $ even) outcome, preceded by a bit of palava... All the staff were very pleasant to deal with.
