I understand that there are some upcoming changes to the ANZ Frequent Flyer Classic card, as a follow up to the recent offer to Platinum card holders to take up an Amex card in addition to the Visa card. However, it seems that different clients will be receiving different offers. For example, it is possible that the earning rate on the Visa card will be reduced for some clients from 1 point per $1, to 0.5 points. For others, it could remain the same but poits earning could become unlimited, instead of, at present, being capped at $1,500 and then reducing to 0.5 to 1. The annual fee would remain the same.

In addition, an Amex card will be offered to some Classic clients (similar to the offer to Platinum cardholders) with the earn rate varying, dependent on the client, from 1 point per $1 for some to 1.25 points for others.

There will also be the points booster provisions for a higher annual fee.

It seems somewhat complicated and perhaps discriminatory.

Can anyone confirm this.
