I doubt it. The bank was still going to get the $400-odd annual fee. Beyond that, I'd be dumbfounded if a mob like ANZ had the data showing my brother hadn't paid it a cent in interest.

He should try an AFCA complaint.

Not a bad idea. My brother has submitted a complaint to ANZ querying why its own policies weren't followed. AFCA can't hurt, I guess.

Applied for the QFF Black Card while holding the Travel Adventure card, I believe I should still be eligible given that the Travel Adventure isn't a ANZ Frequent Flyer credit card right?

Just hit the minimum spend and will wait till the 2nd statement before getting too concerned...

Also the T&C says it’s only valid for qantas international business lounge? Was gonna use it for the qantas domestic flight I’m taking tomorrow…

If it's a standard QF lounge pass, you can link it to your PNR, but it needs to be done a few hours in advance. You can see what QF lounge passes you have here: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/the-qantas-club/complimentary-invitations.html

I just paid my first bill in full, I got standard QFF points, but no bonus points, no $100 credit and no lounge passes. I guess I'll just wait the 3 months before I churn, hopefully they will pay out by then.

You should get the points and the fee rebate within a couple of weeks after the first statement. The lounge passes are not automatic, you will need to call the ANZ concierge to receive them, it's a bit annoying.

ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit cardholders are entitled to two complimentary Qantas Club lounge invitations in any 12-month period.

You can redeem your complimentary Qantas Club lounge invitations by calling ANZ Concierge on 1300 580 765 (or +61 2 7907 0805 from overseas).

I’ve had the card open ~6 weeks.
Ive read old posts which say some people have gotten a refund, but nothing recent.

If it's typically a non refundable fee, which I believe it usually is, I'd count $100 as a win!

I cancelled this card about 3 months ago and managed to get a partial refund of $345. No idea how the call centre person pulled this off, I held the cards for about 4 months

I applied and was approved for this card recently. Took 2 business days to approve and they requested a lot of details which I assume is because I am a casual worker. It was 80 pages long due to different banks/brokers/share registries and I wonder if they even looked at it .

1. 6 months payslips/bank statements.
2. Interest income, dividend income, statement of shareholdings/account summary. I went back 12 months although they didn't specify a duration.

In 2020 I applied for the same card as a full time worker and only required 2 payslips with YTD income or 3 months payslips.

They asked me why I had paid such a high credit card bill the previous month, and I have to explain that I had just gotten back from 2 months travelling overseas. There were more as well. So painful, I won't do that again

Interesting. Luckily my bank statements only have transfer to my other accounts and 5x $1 transactions every month to get the bonus interest lol.

Agree that providing bank statements could cause issues. I have always been able to avoid providing these as I’m able to provide payslips

I actually had the opposite with another credit card app. I provided all the mandatory requirements in branch which included 2 payslips. Declined because I didn't provide 6 months bank statements but it wasn't requested in the application form. Tried to submit it and they said it's too late. ANZ was my first application after that so I thought I should provide as much as possible but maybe YMMV.
