I've seen comments in other threads about holding both simultaneously, nothing stopping you having both (well besides credit limits).

The saga continues..
They can see that the income is there - but the structure is confusing the hell out of them .
3 x 45 min phone calls later, and 2 missed promises for supervisors to return calls.

This is how other people must feel about citibank !

Well - stuff me
Supervisor just called and we spent 30 mins walking through the arrangements.
Now approved almost 1 month from application !

I was knocked back due to a large amount of credit (I had amex 30k limit and citi 15k limit)
I am about to cancel my citi and have lowered my limit of amex to 8k.
Can I reapply in a month ? or is it too late now.

I too was knocked back and made some changes. Got knocked back again! I called up to find out why. Turns out they didn't actually look at my new application, just based the decision off the old one which was rejected. Ran through a bunch of things, submitted some more documents and playing the waiting game now.

How does one get the lounge passes on this card?

I heard mixed things regarding ringing up and requesting from ANZ or whether you have to make a Qantas spend before they are allocated to your account?:?

Also knocked back.
My situation is always a little odd as Im separated but not yet divorced and living with my de facto. Im also renting currently but own half the house my ex is still in which has a mortgage which is still in my name although Im not paying it. This means always having to pick one valid option out of two on the application, both for the living arrangements and the housing arrangements!
Quite rightly ANZ said I am liable for the entire mortgage payment every month and also for the entire rent payment that I make from my ANZ account (my de facto pays her half to a different bank account of mine but they didnt seem interested in that.) So according to them and the rules as they see it - my outgoings are almost four times that which they actually are!
While I understand that they are working on a worst case scenario it should also be pretty clear to them that as I have my current account, a small savings account and another small loan with them, none of which have ever had any issues Im in a financially and credit worthy state.
Basically I thought that having accounts with them would make it better but it actually made it worse.

Finally got my 120,000 QFF bonus points! Was starting to think I'd have to phone!

Knocked back this week. I currently hold an ANZ Rewards Platinum + several other non-ANZ cards. Instant decline after hitting submit. I have had this card several times in the past, so I can only assume that the digital monkeys have scanned my credit report and found something they weren't happy with.

I'll give it a couple of months and re-apply.

Has anyone who already has the travel adventures card managed to get the bonus points from this card?

I have had all of the ANZ Cards (ANZ Rewards, ANZ FF Rewards, ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures) within a 12 month period and received bonus points on all of them. This is one of the nice perks of how ANZ structure their card programs. They all seem to be separate from one another when it comes to exclusion periods.

3. Offer only available to ANZ Frequent Flyer Black account holders. Account holders may request no more than two Qantas Club Complimentary Invitations in any 12 month period by calling the ANZ Personal Concierge on 1300 580 765. Qantas Club Complimentary Invitations will then be available via the Complimentary Invitations Portal, provided the account holder is not in breach of the ANZ Credit Card Conditions of Use (PDF 336 kB) and the account remains open. Qantas Club Complimentary Invitations are provided courtesy of ANZ and are valid for Qantas Club and Qantas-operated International Business Lounges only. Not valid in International First Class Lounges, Chairman's Lounge, Qantas Domestic Business Class lounges, Qantas Oneworld® alliance airline, partner airline or associated lounges. Invitations must not be sold in any way and Qantas reserves the right to cancel invitations that are in breach of this policy. Invitations are valid for 12 months from date of issue. Each Invitation is valid for a single visit for one person only before the expiry date when travelling on a Qantas or Jetstar flight with a QF or JQ flight number. You can link invitations to an eligible flight or transfer to a family member, colleague or friend through the Complimentary Invitations Portal section on qantas.com/qantasclub. Access may not be available if the applicable lounge is full or near capacity at the full discretion of lounge staff. Access and use of Qantas Club lounges is subject to Qantas Club terms and conditions

Also they say it might take a month for the invites to arrive in the main, but mine came in like 2 business days. Normally a letter sent from 2km down the road takes longer than that!

I like the digital lounge invites that come with the Qantas Premier card. No waiting around for them to arrive in the mail.

Approved for this card and activated. Planning on meeting the minimum spend and paying it immediately. Can anyone shed any light on how the annual fee and rebate work?

Is it possible to meet minumum spend, pay annual fee and receive credit back in the one month? If the card balance is at $0 not sure how the rebate would work?

It's unlikely you'll get charged the full annual fee until the end of the first billing cycle, so any credits/refunds would happen after you have paid the first bill. T&Cs state within 90 days for both points and annual fee refund to arrive. I wouldn't expect it in the first month.

Unlikely, I got my annual fee charged at the end of the first statement and credit during the second statement.
That's what I would be expecting if I were in your position.

Seems ANZ are the new Citibank.... 13 days since application and had to call them up with mrs tizey.

Having to re-provide information that was lodged at the point of application to proceed. Now we play the waiting game.

Ok thanks for the replies Obi-Run & Kangol
And another thing Rusty, the annual fee doesn't count as part of a spend requirements, so you have to spend that much more than the minimum spend requirement to get the points, so then the refund won't bring the account balance into negative anyway.
Edit: oops account not going -ve presumes same month crediting of refund, which probably won't happen. But still note that if you want to EXACTLY spend the points spend requirement, it excludes the annual fee

Thanks Brissy.. my plan was to spend the minimum straight away. wait for 1st statement and then pay the balance plus annual fee. While I'm waiting for points arrive I guess I need to spend another $175 somewhere to offset the credit and get the card back to $0.

Hopefully this will work and I guess depends on when the annual fee is deducted. Thanks for the assistance, never had a card with a rebate attached to it.

Thanks

it's billed on the first statement as two items: annual fee ($370) plus reward program fee ($55)

note, my first statement arrived approx 2 weeks after activation hence i only hit the min spend in the 2nd statement and still waiting for the rebate
