it's billed on the first statement as two items: annual fee ($370) plus reward program fee ($55)

note, my first statement arrived approx 2 weeks after activation hence i only hit the min spend in the 2nd statement and still waiting for the rebate

Same here. Hit min spend in first month im now on the 3rd cycle waiting for the bonus points!

Same situation too - hit min spend in first month. Now in the 3rd cycle, the 120000 have appeared in the 'pending points' page (I imagine they'd be paid out with the third statement), and the $275 annual fee rebate has posted onto my transactions.

I've activated and spent the required $4K today. Noticed the card is still not registered in my login account. This plus the ANZ home loans will deliver 420K QFF. :)

ANZ very lucrative in the NoName household the last 12 months too. Home loan, both of us a travel adventures card and now myself with this one.

update:
noticed in the app that the fee rebate posted to the account before the second statement;
upon logging in could see the 120k allocated, would imagine they will sweep with the next (second) statement.

all in all good experience with anz apart from the assessment dept call centre

22 days from application to approval for a straight forward, PAYG earner in a stable job, no current credit cards, never a late payment in sight.

ANZ - lift your game!!

I applied on Sunday. Was given conditional approval subject to earnings validation.

Due to previous experience with how my pay is recorded on my pay slips and ANZ assuming weekend penalties are overtime I called them on Monday.

Card approved instantly by consultant after a brief explanation.

Data points. I held the Rewards Black untill I cancelled it last Friday the day after recieving my bonus points. I currently hold the Travel Adventures card.

So I almost held the three ANZ cards at the same time.

Just met the minimum spend on this card. Not expecting points to arrive for a while. When I log onto ANZ banking can't a link for rewards or points. Definitely put in my QFF number when applying. Where is everyone seeing the points when they arrive?

I see them now. Did my min spend in 1st cycle, got the annual fee rebate 2nd cycle, points in 3rd cycle

Once logged in click on your card account, then look to the long list of options under "Account actions" to the bottom-left. Note, that's on the desktop, not sure if same options are available on the mobile.

Very interesting thing happen....

I forgot about cash back and closed my card and after one week I remember I suppose to get the cash back.

So I called ANZ asking to reopen my card. and they told me its not possible. Then I asked for the cash back I suppose to get.

They took my account number and told me to wait for couple of days .

And i Rec. 520. But i was expecting 275....

Just received second month statement, have been credited 120k bonus points and annual fee rebate. Meet spend requirements after the first statement.

I hope my turnaround is as quick as yours. Needed the 120K to hit QF points plus and if it takes 3 cycles then it'll be too late.

Hi guys - keen for some feedback/advice

I applied for this card last week (I actually had the card a few years ago) and was unfortunately declined today, after a phone consultation in which they went over all my personal expenses again.

Solid income, no debt aside from a small mortgage, spend quite a bit each month, pay full statement balance each month, have never been declined for a card, and haven't applied for any cards for well over a year, etc etc.

Any 'tips' on why I may have been declined this time? Has the approval process changed in some way in the last year or two? Any 'red flags' for the banks that didn't exist a couple years back? Any tips for potentially successful channels through which I could escalate the decision or discuss with the bank further?

Quite disappointed and surprised...

I suspect the bolded bit is the issue.

Well that was a fairly ambiguous comment from me admittedly. I regularly spend on whatever card I have, but not enormous amounts by any measure, and pay the full statement balance. Where's the red flag there?

It doesn't matter where you're spending the money. They're looking at your ability to service the debt based on your income. if you're spending a bunch of your income on other things, no matter how discretionary, they're assuming you don't have that money available to pay off this card.

ANZ are taking a very blinkered approach and zero flexibility. It's quite ridiculous really.

I was called by anz and also told I was rejected, but after offering to cancel my existing credit card with $15k credit limit, I was approved.
I realised afterwards, I also put an amount in for how much credit card repayment each month which I think double dipped on my expenses (I think you should put $0 if you always pay the card off in full as I do - but I put my regular monthly bill amount which I think is not correct)

Yep - I reckon that's what scuttled me. I also interpreted that field as 'Average monthly CC spend'. I think you're correct in saying it should be zero. In retrospect, it's asking what your monthly 'debt servicing' obligation is.

I also have a second CC with a healthy limit, which I have reduced right down. I am tempted to reapply with more accurate monthly spend breakdown, lower existing CC limit, and $0 in that other field.

With the CC application phone line suspended indefinitely due to corona, they are email only at present. I have emailed them requesting a review/discussion, but not holding breath.
