Interesting comments, I called and checked with ANZ before proceeding across to NAB application.

They checked my record and advised that I already held a QFF rewards card and was not entitled to the "new" promotions on QFF cards which is an absolute joke. they clearly value new people rather than proven track record account holders.
FWIW the 12 month exclusion for the same card type has been like that for many years... you can understand why they don't want to invite people to hit and quit.

If you are a good customer, at best you might be able to negotiate the annual fee, typically 50% or 100%. For that, you would typically call them a few weeks before the renewal. I think I read somewhere someone getting some bonus points too to stay, but I can't remember for sure.
Considering your history, I would call them to cancel, explain why you want to move to NAB, and see if they can do something about it. With the volume of transactions you do, there is a fair chance they will find a way to make something happens.

The promotion exists to acquire new customers.

I think being a good credit card customer to the bank, you must not pay the full balance in each statement period, plus you pay your normal annual fee, as well as loads of interest to the bank, then the bank is more than happy to keep you as a loyalty customer.

I applied for this one last night, uploaded payslips right away and got the approval text and email this morning at 9am. Very quick and easy.

I have my home loan with ANZ (thanks to their 300,000 point promo) and the package gives this card for free. The online chat person last night wasn't able to tell me if I would get the cash back offer given I don't pay the annual fee. I don't expect it, but would be nice!

You still have to pay $55 rewards fee per card regardless if you have a homeloan package with ANZ.

The amount of spend helped in my case. I did get once a fee waiver and the next year a reduced fee, each time I would be explaining to the retention team I would otherwise leave. In each case they looked at my history and it was enough. I dont think I used the card for more than 5k a month on average, and the card was setup for auto payment of closed balance. That was 3 years ago, things might have changed with ANZ now.

I asked a similar question for a different card but want to apply for this after meeting the spend on another card.

How many pay slips will St. George ask for when applying for the Amplify Platinum card?

I got this request end 2019 from st george:

2 computerised payslips from your main employer no older than 2 months, showing your Year-to-date income. If you are unable to provide payslips- please send bank statements showing your name and employment income received in the last 3 months.

Very helpful. I'll wait 2 x payslips until applying!

Mrs Rusty approved for the ANZ black 120k $425 AF $275 back.
Minimum spend hit 15/6 during 1st statement. Received 2nd statement yesterday but still no bonus points. Is this normal?

I checked my efforts on this card and received points in 21 days last year. I'm sure she is eligible... no ANZ in last 12 months except for ANZ traveller which shouldn't count

The Mrs got it on the second statement earlier this year. I'd shoot them a message via online banking to confirm eligibility and timeframe.

Cheers Ramamba.. sent a message and got a reply confirming eligibility and up to 60 days to process, fingers crossed next statement.

I'm an employee of a company I'm the director of and sole shareholder

ANZ want.
- My income tax statement
- My notice of assessment
- Company income tax statement
- Profit and loss statement
- Balance sheet

Is this normal? I didn't even have to provide this much for the mortgage. I'm personally applying with my personal income, so the company is entirely irrelevant

Your mistake was telling them you owned the company. Should have just said you're an employee and been done with it. I found ANZ to be extremely painful to deal with for card applications. I suspect you have no choice but to do the dance if you want to the card.

Damn.
It’s a ridiculous amount of information, especially when they probably throw it on a server forever with admin admin for the logins.

They got me! I applied before the 12 months was up, but was approved so assumed I had left it long enough.
No bonus points for me!

Applying before the end of your exclusion period won't stop you from getting approved for the card. It just disqualifies you from being eligible for bonuses.
