We are here for a 3 night stay before our flight home. Desenzano looked to provide us with a good base for the bottom of Lake Garda & also a reasonable lot of connections to Malpensa airport. Our ferry docks on time with only about 20 people getting off at what is the end of the line. We are met by our host & driven along the nice boulevard & then up a steady hill to our abode.
This is a freestanding townhouse of pretty new construction. Downstairs there is a bench kitchen with heaps of gear, a lounge, sat tv (Italian only), with a toilet & washing machine in a small separate room. Upstairs there is the separate bedroom with a good king size bed with another loft area with another bed that we will not use. There is a separate bathroom upstairs with a good shower & again a bidet is on offer. We seem to be aligned east/west & opening up the doors/windows gets us good cross breezes (there is air con upstairs). We are given a collection of tourist brochures, shown the lane that provides a shortcut back down to the lake & a map that shows the 3 supermarkets that are within about a 15 minute, relatively flat vicinity. We are told to send a sms with our onward travel plans & we will be picked up & dropped at the station!-service.
The walk up the hill that some Trip Advisors had complained of was no challenge after nearly 6 weeks of walking & this is a very quiet location yet such a short walk to everything.
Downstairs living area
separate downstairs toilet & washing machine
Upstairs bathroom facilities
Very comfortable bedroom. There is also an upstairs loft with single beds
Path down to harbour, shops & restaurants-approx 5 minutes to the water
