Appearance of points in QFF acct if I pay ahead of due date

Hi I have a Qantas amex card and need some points to access some award seats.
I can bring forward some big purchases on the card but would be grateful for some advice.
QFF points usually appear in the acct when I pay on time and amex receives my payment.
If I pay earlier than the due date , do the points appear soon after or,do I have to wait for the due date to pass anyway ?

If you have a direct sweep card then it is monthly. (FWIW, the one I have does not rely on payment before the points are "swept" - it is done around the same time as the statement is generated.
