Apple Airtags

I have my AirTags inside a plastic coin bag, and then taped to the suitcase shell underneath the lining. No-one is going to get that out easily!
Yes, and there are lots of little pockets inside most suitcases these days which make perfect hiding places. I don't think they were ever meant to go on the outside because it is perfect temptation for others.

Even backpacks. A very good example of dropping the DYKWIA, I’m an AirTag user and just stuffing them inside a zipper pocket inside the backpack.

And on this trip on 6 flights so far have the tags told us that they are on the plane with us and in 4 out of 6 times the first notification is when they first appear on the carousel.

Our air tags are in a thin stocking sox, nappy pinned to the inside lid of the case and it has worked very well since we got them. 🙂
our lost suitcase which had an air tag inside showed that it was in Le Cube at Charles de Gaulle airport until the 19th December. that evening it showed the air tag on the side of the road 7 kilometres away from the airport. we can only assume that someone took a liking to our suitcase and threw out the air tag when they were a safe distance from the airport.

Mate of mine was broken into recently and had two cars stolen (Coorparoo in BNE). Tracked the cars using air tags. Police confirmed the cars were used in three more break-ins that day. Then tracked to where the cars were dumped. Imma get some.

first time I secured my airtags in with the spare wheel and dropped in behind the side wall cavity. it was amazing how quickly it came around to needing to replace the battery. now it's just under some felt under the wheel which is secured in place and under the cargo area flooring.

A dedicated car tracker may be more useful for you; they are more reasonable in cost and performance these days.
