Are QF and CX finally cooperating?

Well a little bit perhaps

Just checking flights HKG-PER on the QF HK website and loo and behold
connections via SIN (CX HKG-SIN in both directions) are actually being offered.:shock: and the same on the Australian site exPER

I still note that the sale and red-e-deals fares ex HKG are a fair bit better than exPER

Perhaps QF had too many complaints about only red-eye flights being available

YMMV - someone interested enought in the schedules to other Oz destinations exHKG to comment?

Don't know about other destinations ex-HKG, but when we were looking at flights from MEL-MNL (to get a cheap CX J fare to Europe, or SQ J fare to MEL with SIN stopovers in both directions ... alas didn't end up booking either.... and no no more :() QF booking engine was bringing up a range of options including QF flights MEL-SIN/HKG coupled with CX (HKG-MNL), 3K (SIN-MNL) & PR (SIN-MNL). As well as the ghastly 763 services via SYD or BNE.

Not sure about the level of co-operation but the CX options have appeared in QFF redemptions online. So that's a start at least.

Yeah, just noticed that myself.

Not all routes are showing up though, eg some intra-Asia ones.

Got 3 Jclass redemptions only 4 weeks out of departure MEL-HKG-DPS return, really easy to get!

Just called QFF to get those intra-asia fares apparently could of had the 2500 point assisted booking fee waived by mentioning that not all the routes show up.

Oh well beggars can't be choosers.:)

I did a recent Cathay booking this way. The staffer never mentioned the 2500 point assisted fee (I thought that is a little strange), and couldn't be bothered telling her I should have it waived.

I already knew which flights had availability, so rattled off the first flight number, but got her to check a date where I knew there was no availability.

The bonus is being able to get Fees/charges charged in $A, although that can also be a negative if the fuel surcharges are different in Australia vs the overseas issuing office.
