I was just replying to NM on a completely unrelated topic and I was about to post about where I go for breakfast when I visit MEL. And it dawned on me that I am actually now a regular at a couple of cafes in [insert suburb] where our office is. Now this office is in fact 400+ miles from my house and I really shouldn't be a regular but I have the same BLT without the top slice of bread and I almost don't have to order now...

So are any of you guys regulars at far flung locations where in theory you don't live and aren't based?

For nearly 4 years (midweek) I would have breakfast at Avenue Road Cafe, dinner at Il Perugino, take away from Charcoal Charlies & beers at the Buena Vista Hotel, all located in Mosman, Sydney. My weekend meals were all held closer to the surf on the Sunshine Coast.

At one cafe in East Melbourne, that i am a regular at for a year and half, I was chatting with owner he asked me what I was up to for the weekend and I said I'll be in Brisbane for the weekend. He asked had I been to Brisbane before and he was quite shocked when I told him I lived in Brisbane. At a bakery in Melbourne I have the nick name 'Mr Cinnamon' with staff as I often have cinnamon donut.

At few hotels I am on a first name basis with most of the staff. When I check in or check out I don't even have to say my name or room number.

One bar in KL I just need to sit down then nod at the bar tender and he will bring me my usual of a pint of tiger.
