Is there any indication what date the United partnership kicks off? I had seen mid April somewhere which means a potential for overlap?

I just booked 4 * DL Premium Select award from SYD-LAX just before Xmas. I was surprised by the availability of premium awards in this sector. UA only has Y awards so it was an easy choice for me.

The last hurrah of the DL partnership has been good for my upcoming trip. Return J to LAX and a few first class domestic redemptions as well. Possibly the best $/point value I've ever achieved thanks to high cash airfares at the moment.

On another note does anyone know if Delta J pax have lounge access at SYD at the moment? Websites suggest the SkyTeam lounge is closed indefinitely...

I'm not sure about Delta J pax, but my partner flew Korean in J a few days ago and they were directed to the Pacific Plaza lounge. He said it was dismal and if not for colleagues, he'd have waited at the gate.
