Good article, thank you.

It would be good to know what the plan is for Partner lounges, such as the Dubai lounges. Technically Qantas status holders should  not have access to these lounges at the moment. See attachment.

Does anyone have any experience on this?

That might be one of the QF website entries that need updating? The Oneworld website actually suggests otherwise (and it’s been a bit slow to get updated):

I don’t have recent experience passing thru DXB but I suspect many AFFlyers have. I don’t recall seeing any mention of QF status PAX being turned away however.

Have accessed Emirates business lounge area a few times this year, gold member at the time. Maybe it is meant the other way round, Emirates member do not have access to partner lounges.

I was in DXB last week and accessed the Emirates F & J lounge without issue [including the time saving F check-in curbside]. Massive lounge with lots and lots of room - i was there for around 4hrs and it was probably running at 15% capacity most of the time. Very nice evening meal too, probably a touch above the dining experience in the QF F lounges in Syd & Mel.

I'm WP with QFF but was only flying Y with Emirates back to Syd.

Does anyone ever remember Darwin - what has happened with our Qantas lounge, does anyone know ?

I had no problem accessing the EK lounge in SIN in April, was travelling on QF (with a QF flight number on the ticket).

I flew out of Sydney mid June on a one world flight, sadly they are still closing the F lounge after the last qantas flight departs, despite the later flights being code share flights. We were all politely kicked out expect for some CL members. Hopefully they will be able to have more late QF flights!

At the moment, it looks like the latest QFi ex-SYD is QF 17 to LAX departing 21:25 but only Tue?

Next best is QF 75 to YVR departing 20:25 but currently only Mon, Thu and Sat?

So Wed, Fri and Sun we’re relying on the evening flights to NZ and HNL (all departing around 19:30).

And emirates etc show no signs of opening their lounges yet. I was allowed into the priory lounge, popped my head in then went to the bar, I would have preferred a voucher 🤣

Port Moresby - you use the Air Niugini lounge if flying Qantas. Which is the opposite if you fly Air Niugini where you get access to the Qantas lounge in Brisbane. I have done both recently.

This changed just before COVID to the Air NZ lounges:

Notably Qantas is listed as being granted access to the Air Niugini lounge in POM on the Air Niugini website.

As a seperate question does anyone know if QF status holders get access to the ZQN and CHC lounges when flying Jetstar? I know this was a thing that previously existed but information on QF's website seems to have vanished.

Oh yes, indeed that flight is still there!

Qantas shut the Darwin international transit lounge when the DRW-LHR flights ended around two weeks ago, but according to the Qantas website the domestic Qantas Club is still available for passengers on international flights. I've updated the article.

Interesting - this thread started in May indicates that no lounge access was available in POM:

How recent was your experience, @Karl Hamann?

I did ask Qantas about the Port Moresby lounge before publishing the article but am yet to receive a response.

@Karl Hamann just confirming that I've heard back from Qantas and you are correct about the Port Moresby lounge. I'll update the article.

Any word on a solid date for the LAX F lounge yet?

Qantas has not given any info publicly, but at this stage there is no F service to LAX. This is due to resume on 28 July when the A380 is back on SYD-LAX, so I would guess it may be around then.

Forgot that the A380 isn't back on just yet. I'm on the 3 August service back from LAX, so I'll make sure to report in then...
