In another thread, 77% of AFF members who currently hold Velocity Frequent Flyer status said they will drop to a lower tier as a result of the recent program changes.

If you're looking for a more cost-effective way to maintain some of the benefits you get with Velocity status, without having to spend lots more than you currently do on VA flights under the new status credit earning system, this article could give you some ideas:

Australia's highest-earning Velocity Frequent Flyer credit card: Offer expires: 30 Apr 2025
- Earn 100,000 bonus Velocity Points
- Get unlimited Virgin Australia Lounge access
- Enjoy a complimentary return Virgin Australia domestic flight each year

I think I'll credit my future VA flights to my UA account. At least UA miles are useful for booking short haul flights in Europe.
