Im curious to see that Asia Miles and Marco Polo do not have their own thread within the loyalty progams. I assume its lack of posts regarding their Airline Loyalty Program. Are they not a heavily used airline out of Australia?

As Asia Miles/MPC belong to CX, which is a OneWorld airline, presumably most Australians who fly with them occasionally would credit to QF, and those who travel frequently in premium cabins would credit to AA, which has a better redemption scheme.

Asia Miles also has a hard 3 year expiry date on points.

A very good question given CX operate 70 flights a week out of Aus!

Plus there are quite a few here that have Marco Polo Gold ( courtesy of Amex) who I had imagined would be using their elevated status for reward privleges.

If a certain program gets enough threads in the general discussion area it can be elevated to its own area, put simply the CX program has yet to achieve that, while it might have lots of flights, the fact many fares are non earning probably reduces the discussion somewhat.

possibly however all fare classes down to Q now earn miles since late last year and the frequency of threads is increasing as people start looking around for other options to QFF Amex going to 1:1 will help also as those who purely earn/burn from cards can get far better burn rates in Asia Miles.

Having lately compared qantas and Asia Miles redemption rates for flights into Australia I totally agree with you.

Asia Miles redemption rates are significantly lower than QF, not to mention that as Diamond (through Amex Centurion) they seem to make 2 redemption seats available in F or J on ANY flight I like. Really amazing service!

Had any luck getting 4 in J??

I'm in Marco Polo like thousands of us here, I go to another site to see what is happening, agree should be separate forum on AFF.

Is there any CC we can get in OZ to rack up some CX points?.

@Limewood Amex cards (eg platinum edge). Citi select visa. Not sure about bank branded cards.

With Amex (ate at in Membership Rewards Ascent) you can transfer to Asia Miles.
Never tried more than 2 redemption tix on CX sorry.

I thought I saw a poll earlier but couldn't access it.

As mentioned Marco Polo/Asia Miles hasn't been very popular on AFF. Would setting up a separate forum make it more popular?

Would definitely like to see a CX one here in AFF.
I for one would be more active posting /replying if there is a dedicated one... At the moment, I'm using other sites for CX things.

I would be interested to learn more, and would like to see dedicated section for Cathay.

I too am very interested in Cathay-related programs and would love to be able to tap into the wealth of knowledge that is obviously floating around here.
