It says if you apply before 21 December.... which I assume you would have done.

The OP thought you'd applied for a new Velocity card and was still able to go get the extra points.

dgruber... I didn't apply for the card but do know a few that got sucked in... honestly.. I don't see any reason to keep the card after the first year. It's just another average card (with a below average look).
