I did a search and couldn't find any historical info on this, but I want to know what the scale for cheapest flights to South America has been, and is likely to be in the future. As far as I know Qantas and LAN fly to Santiago, with connecting flights to anywhere else with LAN.
I need to get to Rio cheaply in May next year (2013). Current Qantas sale fares on return are at $1840 from Adelaide.
I know from glancing at airfares before, that they can go as high as $3000 easily, and $2500+ was the norm, so $1800 sounds reasonable to me.
I see there have been sales with LAN in the past for around $1400, but how often do these come up?
Wondering if I should miss this Qantas sale, and wait for another with Qantas or LAN in the next few months, or book now!
Anyone book flights to South American regularly and can share their opinion/tips? Cheers.
