Hello to all, First post here!

AVIS are running a double points promo for rentals over 3 days in length before the end of Feb

I had an L plate driver smash into my 4WD at xmas and as I have to book in my car for repair for a week and will need a replacement vehicle, I'll pay the car hire with Amex QF card, get the points for the money spent, plus the bonus points through Avis, then book the lot back to the idiot L plate drivers insurance company:lol:

Hi metalworker,

Welcome to AFF.

According to the Avis website, this requires a coupon number to be entered (MPPA010) - bugger! I just had a 7 day rental from December 27 to Jan 3, which won't be eligible! Wish I'd known!

This may make you feel better; I've got a 6 day Avis car rental starting Sunday in LST, and the rate with the MPPA010 code is nearly $300 more than my current rate for the same car class:shock::(...so they can keep their double QF points, and I will save ~$300!!

That's be another 50-100% depending on the car/rate! Even if it's not, I'd be letting them keep their double points too! I was using a corporate rate, which I wouldn't think would have changed (I haven't come across any situations where it increases). It was expensive too - $870 (4WD from ADL), so double points would have been nice!

Avis are also doing double Flying Club miles for 3 days or more when you use the VA AWD:

For Flying Club Gold members: W645601
For Flying Club Silver members: N645801
For Flying Club Red members: Z333300

Given they offer 1000 for any rental that uses the above AWDs then thats 2000 miles.
