Just posting todays experience with Avis.

Perth domestic; signed off on the paper work at the desk inside the terminal, arrived at the car park to an Avis employee with the hatch open on the back of a car and a key rack. He duly inspects it and no key, he checks and says will be here in 2 to 3 mins as just finishing being washed.

No problems, 10mins later standing in the sun it turns up, paint is marked in several spots not noted on the check sheet and to top off the wait after washing; it was still dirty, windows, interior, mirrors.

It was a disorganised rabble.

Hmmm, I've heard nothing but bad things about all car rental mobs in PER

I picked up a car last week and took about 30 photo's, including close up's of pin dents and every little mark on the paperwork, it was enough to 1) get a cheeky remark about dodgy car rental companies from another fellow renter and 2) get the Europcar attendant running over to ask if everything is ok.

I hate getting car's without damage, let alone black cars without damage!

No issues with Hertz in PER, only in SYD where they give me as a President's Circle member old cars without cruise control.....

I have had phantom refuelling charges twice for them, both quickly revised when I emailed a copy of the fuel receipt and gauge photo geo tagged on drop off.

Oh yes the fuel guage not quite full on my last visit, it was on F but every car I have ever driven it goes above F

Told the guy at the exit and he looked at it, looked at it, looked at it, and looked at it... Eventually (at least 10 seconds passed) said maybe it's faulty, and wrote down "Possible faulty fuel guage" on my paperwork.

I couldn't be bothered arguing as I had places to be, but cost me about an extra $10 in petrol when filling it up.

Hertz SYD have one last chance to redeem themselves in a few weeks. I have a X5 booking, and let's see if they give me the old model or the new one (they have about a 50/50 mix)

Smart move will start doing that!

IF I feel the car isn't quite full, I immediately go and fill it up. IF it takes more than $2 before it clicks, I call up with the receipt and get an "On the road expenses" rebate applied.
