Avis Prefered and beyond.

Hi All, i am a very regular Avis renter, 33 rentals this calendar year for nearly 90 days. all in AU except 2 in the US.

Service has been excellent, no complaints.

Im a member of the preferred program, is there another tier of membership?
I know I'm a tight assed Larry only getting the small cars, but it would be nice to get the odd upgrade here and there?

Anyone here in AU have experience with Avis and above preferred?

It appears the level above Preferred is Avis First, given when you make more than 12 rentals, or 35 days worth of rentals, but it’s only open to US and Canada residents.

I wonder what the impact of the Other car rental companies no longer being with QFF will do?

I know some colleagues who are with Hertz are up in the higher echelons and get some great treatment, yet im seeming stuck in a program that doesn't offer the same perks.

It particularly sucks as i do rent OS and would love the benefits that are afforded to OS renters.

Oh well, at least I get FF points i guess.

Isn't there the Avis Presidents club?

Yes there is. I’m a member, courtesy of AMEX Centurion. It’s good in that I have a 100% success rate on the double-upgrade benefit with Avis. The problem I find is that I don’t get all that excited by Avis’ fleet in Oz. Now that Hertz has their “Prestige Collection” I have been renting those cars for the past few months.

You were pretty close to a One Way ticket to HKG in J with VS or over half way to a PE roundtrip to HKG with 33 rentals , much better value than the odd upgrade or free day IMHO.
