Hi All,
In my upcoming first visit to the UK I need to rent a car out of Belfast (BHD) for three days. I thought I had a great deal through the RAC reseller agency (driveaway) before my confirmation email announced a 30GBP/day underage surcharge (plus taxes and admin fee, of course) which is approximately thrice the daily rental cost.
I'm aware of CDPs, etc that get you out of or minimise underage surcharges in the US (or at least, minimise it to $10/day) but I can't seem to find anything on the UK, or Northern Ireland in particular. Hertz' current waiver of the surcharge only seems to apply to Australian rentals.
Does anyone have any tricks up their sleeve? Thanking you kindly in advance.
