I am a Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold. I have around 200,000 points and would like to get one award booking from Perth (PER), Australia to Washington DC (IAD) return trip.

I want to know what is the best airline combination and best path to take.

Do i need to get the award booking from Qantas or can i do it from One world website?

Will Qantas or one world awards be any different, or are they same price?

Also, if i use AA or BA flights the points i get will they be OW points or individual AA and BA points. And how can i use or convert these points to Qantas points later on (are they one for one replacement?).

Thanks for your help.

As your points are with QFF, you will need to make your award booking with QFF. The OW carrier options available will be presented by the QF booking engine when you do your availanbility search, however I suspect you'll have very limited non-QF metal options at least until you hit LAX.

And, if you're looking to book a pure reward seat (not a QF ASA, likely the case with only 200K points) you will not receive any points / status credits for the flight.

If you search PER-IAD in "Üsing Points" the QF suggestion is 75000pts.  However if you do a dummy booking you will be offered various routings via JNB and LHR for anywhere between 99000 and 108000pts. The lowest cost route is via MEL/LAX which you can book as a mult-city itinerary for 64000pts as long as you use only QF and AA. The taxes/charges will vary with each route
