Hi...looking at taking an QF classic award PRA - KRA ...on Airberlin...so it transits via TXL.......would my luggage be checked all the way through?

Reason I ask is that the flight arrives into TXL about midday and then onto KRA about 21:00....so would I be able to travel into Berlin for a bit of sightseeing during the transit period.

Regards
Ishin

I don't see any reason that your luggage would not be checked all the way through. And you wouldn't have any problems leaving the airport. Just buy an AB day ticket (Tageskarte) for around €7, and hop on the TXL bus into the city.

Enjoy your day of sightseeing in Berlin!

Yeah - your luggage will be safely checked through on AB.

Just walk out of the gate and head to the exit near the bus stops. There's a BVG (Berlin transport office) ticket office on the right just before you exit the terminal. They'll sort out your Tageskarte and give you a map.

If you have a compatible smartphone and data plan I highly recommend using Citymapper as it makes it really easy to get around to all of the sights using transport. It has all buses, trains and trams integrated.

Leave time for a Currywurst and Berliner Weisse bier.
