Hi all, we have 3 Qantas J passengers flying into Heathrow in the morning via T3 and then flying out on BA from T5 in the evening. Wanted to transit directly upon arrival to T5 to stow hand luggage and take showers in the T5 BA Arrivals Lounge before sightseeing for the day. I know Qantas J passengers can use the T3 arrivals lounge. Anyone know if Qantas inbound J passengers can use the T5 arrivals lounge...or is this for inbound BA customers? I can't find this on the Qantas website and the person i spoke to at Qantas FF wasn't clear. Also, i'm assuming the arrivals lounge is after you clear customs? Any help appreciated.

Not sure why you would want to do this other than to stow luggage before sight seeing? You should be able to check through and thus only have hand luggage when sightseeing.

Getting from T3 to T5 seems an unnecessary trek.

thanks...we will be stowing the hand luggage at T5 which we'll pick up before we board in the evening...don't need to walk around London all day with handluggage with books etc.

If you are Qantas Platinum (all passengers need to be Platinum; guest privilleges do not apply) then you will have access to the BA Arrivals lounge in T5 in your circumstances. However, given the shiftiness that seems to be going on with BA lounges at the moment, I'd be prepared to be told that things have changed.

It surprises me (it probably shouldn't, the lounge access maze being what it is) that QF inbound pax to T3 would be able to access AA Arrivals in T3 (I have used this, must be inbound on QF in J or F, status does not matter) and the BA arrivals Lounge in T5 as well. Why would QF make provision for pax flying into T3 to have access there, and also to the arrivals lounge in T5 (albeit with different entry criteria). Seems like overkill.

I don't have the ridiculously simple (when in reality it's far from it) BA cheat sheet on the computer I'm on at the moment but will upload an image of it later today. However, note that 'regular' J passengers can access the AA lounge only; a WP in Y can access the BA lounge only; a J passenger who is WP can access both. That's my reading of it, anyway. As I said, I'll upload the image later today.

As promised, here's the cheat sheet. Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if it's out of date.

Unfortunately, that sheet dates from ~2003, well before the proverbial first sod of turf was turned in the construction of T5.

It does show what used to be the case for LHR T4.

There is a relatively recent FT anecdote that T5 arrivals access was permitted for JSA flights: (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qant...row-business-arrival-lounge.html#post16112601)

Think it took the better part of 20min to get across and frankly the hot english breakfast is not that good, so on a normal arrival I would just use the AA lounge.
