Received email from BA which may benefit QF FF members too:

Dear Mr Foreigner,

At British Airways, we are totally committed to finding ways of improving the Executive Club. So we are delighted to announce a range of new benefits that we hope will make your Blue membership more rewarding than ever.

Double Tier Points, Quadruple BA Miles.

We’ve increased the BA Miles you’ll earn flying Discount Economy. Quadrupled them, to be precise, so that you will be awarded 100% of the mileage rather than 25%, and you’ll earn double the Tier Points on Discount Economy too - 50% rather than 25%.

And it gets better.

More BA Miles with our partners.

oneworld® has just got better for Executive Club members thanks to our transatlantic joint business with American Airlines and Iberia.

It means you can now fly transatlantic with American Airlines and either earn or redeem BA Miles. And wherever you fly with American Airlines, anywhere in their network, you’ll now earn 100% of the mileage in Discount Economy.

Finally, if you book with British Airways, you can use your BA Miles to upgrade from full fares on either partner.

We say ‘finally’, but rest assured our commitment to making the Executive Club ever-better is ongoing.

In the meantime, we hope you’ll have an opportunity to enjoy some of these exciting new rewards and benefits very soon.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see anything in that which benefits QF FF'ers.

For BA members, now being able to earn points on AA fares between UK & US is a huge win for them. Will benefit both BA and AA frequent flyers.

I am hoping the 0.25 earn will improve with the changes.

0.25

* Travel in Discount Economy in the Eligible Booking Classes that is not between these city pairs will earn a Base Rate of 0.25:

- London or Frankfurt and Bangkok or Singapore.

That email woke me this morning, but if they bring those changes across to QFF too, they could have a very enticing program. Although then again, I just spent 15 minutes trying to work out what Tier Points could be earnt in Australia and the result wasn’t worth looking for, such an awful website to find anything :p

This has been on the cards for some time, good to see it finally in place.

Why would they come across to QFF? I understand the changes were part of the anti-trust settlement allowing AA/BA/IB to co-operate on trans-Atlantic.

Exactly, they wouldn’t. If they did, they might steal some QFF members, but as it stands they wont. Plus Tier Points make me cringe.
