I have a RTW ticket with Star Allance and there is confusion about how much luggage I can take. My RTW leaves Perth and goes through USA/CANADA via UK.

Some say standard 20kg, then there's 32kg total, and some say 2 pieces of luggage, each at 32kg.

Does anyone know? I don't particularly want to start with 32 (or 64kg) and end up paying excess luggage at some part of our trip.

Thanks

Welcome to AFF Cathryn :)

Standard baggage allowance for RTWs and any travel involving north america is 2 pieces, each max weight 32kg.

If you are *G or flying first you may get additional allowance on top of this.

Just remember that the piece-system allowance only applies to flights on your RTW ticket, and not, eg, intra-European flights purchased separately. These flights would have the 20kg weight rule applied (or worse on some budget carriers).

I'm not sure what the situation is for European flights bought on a Star European Airpass.
