Hi guys!! quick weird question! I have booked Brisbane to Dubai and then Dubai to Amsterdam but will be on seperate bookings both emirates flights tho with a 3 hour layover in between.

Are they still able to have my bags sent to Amsterdam when I check in at brisbane or will I have to grab my bags in Dubai then check in again?

Does that make sense? Cheers.

  • Is baggage transferred when I’m on connecting Emirates flights?

If you’re connecting in Dubai between Emirates flights for less than 24 hours, your bags will be checked through to your final destination. Therefore, your bags will not be available to collect in transit, unless otherwise specified by our airport staff.
This includes tickets purchased on emirates.com, including using the advanced search option. If you wish to collect your bags in Dubai, please get in touch with us to make this type of booking or modify your existing booking.

    PS

How do I track my baggage on my journey?

Use the baggage tracker in the Emirates App to see where your bags are at every step of the journey. Select your trip under ‘My trips’ and choose ‘My baggage status’. You can follow your bag from check‑in to loading on the aircraft, while it’s being transferred to a connecting flight, and see when it has arrived at your destination. Check the baggage belt number when your bags are ready to collect.
If your bag is delayed, the tracker will give you a reference number (called a PIR) and let you know what we’re doing to return your bags to you. If you don’t have the app, you can use the delayed or damaged baggage tracker on our website

Well I haven't done that flight, but I would suspect that if you show both bookings/tickets, they will book through for you. Worth asking

Yeah have been getting mixed answers called emirates some said yes and some said no

Same with people’s comments on Facebook yes and no.

Both emirates aircraft just seperate booking

Had to do it that way so I could get my first class seat on the second flight so never done that so don’t want to miss out on the experience

Thanks for that mate been reading it just thought if they meant for flights on the same booking

well you could read it either way... it seems since you got two bookings and F class for that, they would string them together

unless otherwise advised by airport staff

Yeah for sure as soon as I get to the airport I’ll be asking them.

Was hoping someone might have been in same situation and say yes all good haha

I would recommend joining the Flyertalk forum and finding the Emirates section, there will be a lot of people who have done this. It's not really a Qantas question.
