Need some clarification on this because im seeing two two answers, yes and no.

I am lookng to book business reward seats YUL to YYC on AC using velocity points.
Does it come with any free check in baggage?

I have an AC business reward seat booked via Velocity for YYZ-YYC and when retrieving the booking on the Air Canada website, it shows 1st and 2nd bag complimentary, max weight per bag 32kg, max dimensions per bag 158cm.

Velocity status doesn't give any baggage benefit with AC, but the business ticket includes it, including reward flights.

A separate Velocity award booking in Air Canada Economy (LAX-YYZ) shows the checked baggage fee at $52.10 for the first bag and $74.40 for the second, both in AUD, both 23kg max.

Thanks Chris. When you book on the virgin website, it says check in baggage is not included so I was confused.
I have a connecting Y class booked on a separate ticket. I wonder if the agent can check me in all the way and waive the baggage fee..

I've flown a similar itinerary using Velocity points and received a complimentary checked bag. (Not sure if the allowance was one or two bags - I only needed one.)

As in 1st booking in Y linking up to a 2nd booking in J?

As in 1st booking in Y linking up to a 2nd booking in J?

No, the original question was about a domestic J booking.

Separately I have also flown AC on a Y booking made with Velocity points. My ticket says "0 pieces" of included baggage but I was able to check in a bag for free with Star Alliance Gold status.

If you're on different tickets and have no status, I'd expect to pay a nominal fee to check a bag on the Y ticket.
