Hi I have to fly back from Thailand at the start of January, just not sure on which day yet. Any ideas on the best way to do this? Having a op done over there so return date isn’t set yet.

If you really have no idea when you’ll be able to come back, the obvious choice is a fully flexible ticket, with no change fees. But that could be quite expensive!

It you have a ‘rough’ idea, but not an exact date, you could buy a more restrictive ticket, but give yourself a week’s buffer. If you’re recovered earlier than expected, just spend the few days having a holiday.

Looking for low cost really, but don’t mind paying a bit more. I don’t know whether to book something soon or wait a bit and see if any sales come up. I have traveled with Singapore air and have 25000 points and velocity points about the same.
I guess just worried that the longer I leave it will the prices go up and up? Leaving Bangkok and fling to KL or Singapore or elsewhere then main flight from there would be ok, just so undecided at the moment.

Scoot might be an option - I think can be booked with KrisFlyer miles and is a good low cost product, even if you want to go revenue, which at short notice might be what you are left with.

Wish I thought about flights timing before I booked the op. Do you think I might be lucky and there be some sales coming up, I can go from Bangkok t via anywhere as long as I get to Hobart.

@Lorri I had this dilemma earlier this year.

Booked Qantas Classic award to BKK Christmas Day and it was torture trying to get Classic awards coming back. Nothing on SQ even via VA and the first available Qantas award was mid-May.

There won't be any sales. In fact flights are quite full right now.

This is one possibility

- 07 Jan BKK-SIN-DPS on Scoot for ~$200
- 08 Jan DPS-HBA on Jetstar or Virgin for ~$600

Book sooner rather than later.
