Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

I got a response from Bankwest:
"I have had a look at your account history and I can confirm that the
system has transferred [x] points to your QANTAS account as of the
3/1/16. There was a delay to this due to the public holidays just
passed. Please allow a few more days and you should see the points in
the receiving account."

That's pathetic. Which public holidays (let alone holiday) has occurred since 3 January?

I also have mine posted between the 5th and 7th of every month.

Public holidays occurring since the 3rd is not entirely important.

They will have a huge backlog of processing due to the number of public holidays in the last 2 weeks. Processing doesn't occur on publics, someone needs to be there to supervise, check logs etc. It's no where near as automated as people think it is. They give a window of 21 days precisely for this situation.

As long as they are processed within the 21 day window then I don't really think your rage is justified.

They already know many customers are on the cheap, if they didn't know; they need to go to pre school!
I think they don't have a clue what is going on.

How much does ~360,000 QFF points in a year cost Bankwest by someone paying 1c transactions and how much income have they made from that person?

There's no way they're that stupid to let this continue this long if they were losing. They make money on every transaction an account holder makes.

The merchants are paying for it.

I'd honestly say BW is probably losing out slightly. The issue is if they implement a clearly defined limit and use it to stop everyone then they have to introduce it into the T&C and it'll hurt the account. I'd say there is not enough people taking advantage of it to cause them to do this.

They are also 100% aware people are doing it.

So if I'm reading this thread correctly, all I have to do is get a BW transaction account card and set up a macro for my Telstra bill?

Small tip: Open the account with the card (not the Platinum) that only requires a deposit per month of $2,000. That way if you want to get a second card you may find it easier to request to "upgrade" the account to the Platinum card, whilst requesting to keep the old one open whilst you wait for the new one to arrive (and not cancelling it). I did it the other way with one of the accounts and found it awkward requesting to downgrade the account, ymmv.

Thanks for the tip. Is there a reason for a second card or just the ability to accrue of few more transactions a month? (I haven't read all 200+ pages of this thread).

You don't need to read all 2069 posts, perhaps read the last 200 posts, you'll find your answer, which is to accrue more transactions and therefore more points; there are pointers on what to do.

FWIW I have been told that they are now being strict on the Platinum card (ie you must have 4k worth of deposits in a month or the Plat card will not be issued) and are being proactive about cancelling the first card once the second has been cancelled, saying that "you are not allowed to have two cards for the same account". Not two of the same card type, but two cards.

I've read through the last few months of this thread looking for payment options.
Am I right in thinking that Optus have a limit of one transaction per 20 minutes, effectively limiting it to 70 transactions per Optus account per day?
For someone without a Telstra account, are there any other (preferably not phone company) suppliers that accept high volume/ low value transactions?
TIA
J

Finally signed my partner up last week with 2 accounts.

Haul should be 65k points a month now. 750k points a year, going to have to dip into the qantas store as my goal is only enough points for 2 business RTW tickets and I pretty much have that already!

Did you open the basic first, then the plat? Did they say anything about having to cancel the first one?

How do you sign up for the second account?
