Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

I got the email saying the 10k points offer is on until 18 July 2014, will definitely look into getting it.

Taco seasoning?

I'm technically an existing customer because I have an offset account that is classed as one of their transaction accounts, so unfortunately I don't quality for the 10k bonus points.

I emailed and phoned asking to still be given the bonus points as I don't technically use my offset as a transaction account, but didn't have any luck :(

Has anyone else had any luck getting the bonus points when you already have a BW transaction account?

And is this offer definitely still going until the 18th of July?

:)

Family members open new accounts?

Then transfer points. ;)

Is it just me or is it rather strange that the BankWest website doesn't mention the 10,000 points at all? Is that because the offer was initially valid until 31 May and has been extended?

The email I received says:

If you open a new account before 18 July 2014 you will receive 10,000 bonus Qantas Points[SUP]^[/SUP]

so I guess that should alright.

Edit: I've been told that, even though the Bankwest offer has officially ended, those who received an email are still eligible as long as they follow the link from the email.

I also have and email that says 18 July.

Sounds good. I just wanted to make sure the offer is still valid even thought it's not listed on the Bankwest website.

Cheers.

So sorry, if you buy something that costs less than $1 do you get the 5 points?

Yes. List of ineligible spend below.

Ok, so has anyone worked out any good strategies that they may not necessarily be putting out in the open... I assume no one has gone over the top and closed the whole offer down... :)

Yeah you're probably right, unless its absolutely something you were going to buy already and buy them one by one in individual amounts (time consuming!!!), I was thinking about buying things as low as 10 cents but that still ads up to 50 QFP/$1 which is 2 cents each and I usually want to keep it to 1 cent cost or less so basically need to be using for transactions of 5 cents or less which gets into the realm of things that would probably get BW's notice before long if you could even find such low priced items...

A 5c stamp?

Do they even make 5c stamps anymore and can you buy them online??? And a single grape, well that would be time consuming to put through at the self serve machines... :)

I attempted to game the system but unfortunately they didn't pay any points on my 1c transactions.

I will argue the case at the end of next month.

You are limited to 50 transactions per day on this account as well.

ETA: Telstra accepts 1c payments for bills.

Did you manage to findout what the minimum $$$ / $0.02c might actually be in regards to points provided?

Not yet.

I'm debating whether to ask them or not.

This month I might try a staggered approach (a bunch of 2c trans, then 3c trans) then based on points accrued work out the minimum.

Mind you - it should be easily spelt out in the terms and conditions not left for us to work out.

Again for the amount of time you spend on this it is not worth it. You can get the QFF toolbar on your browser and earn 150 points a month for doing searches. Seems like a better us of time.
