Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

Also for any EnergyAustralia people, although we've known for a while now that the $0.01s no longer work, there is now specific wording on their payment page that says minimum payment is $0.10 :)

I can see the $0.10 minimum payment wording on the "MyAccount" payment page.
But the "Make a Payment" page doesn't list any minimum amount.

Has anyone tried doing $0.01 on the "Make a Payment" page?

Well, if you want to know what's going on then you SHOULD take the time.

I did started reading it through but then got to a section where a forum member by the name of Rick started venting out his anger about his account being stopped by Bankwest abusing micro payment. That's when I stopped reading.

Why did you stop reading there? Rick whinging about being booted by BW was the most entertaining part of the thread by far! :)

Yeah I read that he was racking up ridiculous amounts of points, it was funny at first but then his post started getting aggressive.

Where is the Make a Payment page? Tried quickly skimming through can't see anything that looks like that.

Really? I did it.. I feel like over half of it was gibberish/repeated stuff.

So it really isn't that "productive" to be reading through EVERYTHING.

You know how I think this could really work well?
A FAQ as the first post with all the common questions such as "How many transactions can I do in a day? 50; How many retailers can I do it at? Telstra, PostPaid only; How can you get an extra card on an account? Ask to be upgraded to platinum"

That would really cut it down. Suggesting people should read 200+ pages.. nahhhh....

Why dont you create one then? If people want free points badly enough then just read the thread. If you cant be bothered then too bad.

Why are you asking me to? Am I obligated to? It's just an idea. Ideas don't need to be executed by the ones that suggest them.

I'm just saying it's pretty inefficient and unrealistic to expect people to read 200+ pages. I generally agree with the motto "if you want it, get it yourself" but if that was the way everything worked, there would no such thing as instruction manuals, guides, procedures, recipes.

I'm not saying any of us here should be obligated to spoon feed anyone else, but I am saying it's equally unrealistic to expect people to go through 200+ pages where if you have actually read it, half of it is unnecessary stuff or repeated stuff.

With all that being said, I hope you've never asked a stupid/repeat question, never zoned out of a conversation, read every word of every contract and T&Cs of any paperwork that you sign and always paid 100% attention to absolutely everything you do like any perfect human being would do.

I'm kind of glad that it's so long a thread and the nubbly bits are hidden away. Yesterday the Points Fairy delivered a sweet present, but if everyone had access to a handy step by step guide, I dare say the bounty would dry up.

Agree! I am struggling through 350+ pages at the moment on the OW RTW thread. I really think we need an oracle / wiki we can refer to. Just have the basics doesn't have to be too detailed.

While it perhaps hasn't been expressed that eloquently above the issue here is that plenty of people want to suggest we have a Oracle/wiki/FAQ, no one wants to actually do the work. And unless someone is prepared to do it, the idea will remain just that.

As above. It should not be done unless you want the whole world doing it and things changed for the worse with the current situation either by the bank or the biller. You want the points then go do the hard yards and read. Its actually not that difficult.

Had no issues ordering a Platinum card via the online messaging service. I did get a little nervous that it would throw up a flag... but received a generic email back saying it will arrive in about 10 days. They did specify that my current card would be cancelled once I activated the platinum one.

Please update us as regarding if the 1st card is cancelled.

This is the problem with upgrading/downgrading via online or phone - they automatically cancel the old card. You need to do it in person in a BW branch.
