Bankwest Qantas Transaction account [being withdrawn in 2025]

Points will show on the first statement of each month (whatever date it happens to be generated) and will be credited to your QFF account on the first working day on or after the 5th of each month. EG points were credited on 7th Dec as 5th was a Saturday.

So my understanding is the first statement of the month you will see points accrued on the previous month .

So let say you received an e-statement on 3rd showing that you earned xx_ points . It will get post to you QF account on the 5th .

What if your e-statement come abit late and you missed the deadline 5th of each month . My partner account received first statement on the 6th June showing xx_x points but nothing have been transfer to QF account . Anyone here that been doing this for last 2 years got a similar situation ?

(Unfortunately it will be waiting until the July transfer, which would hopefully double what you would normally receive.)

Billt, I would be checking that BW have your partner's QFF details and that they are correct.

Coincidently, I happened to get my first June statement on the 29th. The points on this statement are showing on the QFF website, with a date of June 6! So even though BW hadn't issued the statement, they had calculated and transferred the QFF points from May, to my QFF account. Note that this was not my first statement.

Yes both existing cards were doing 50x 1c every day. Now going strong with 50x 1c for all three of her cards plus all four of mine. I really think the key is going into a branch and requesting in person. If you find a branch that doesn't work then try another one.

You're not concerned that you could lose, all but one of your existing cards, instead?

Certainly looks like my gig is up at the very least, both my "parents" received the same letter today advising their accounts being closed from July the 1st. Certainly cutting it fine to transfer all the money over. Will be interesting to see if this months points get transferred for them

Brainseewey, if anyone calls BW to ask the reason for the closure of their account, please let us know what BW says. Thanks.

Of course that is always a risk and why I haven't tried for a 5th card on my account since I got the 4th about 2 years ago. If you currently have 2 cards and are trying for a 3rd though I don't see it as potentially losing too much.

I could be wrong here, but I'm guessing that the "family members" shouldn't have been given an account in the first place.
Not too sure why inverted commas have been used on more than one occasion to describe *real people*... or am I ;)
The least one could offer you is a pat on the back for trying. :p

Luckily had transferred all the points in that account over to mine less than a week earlier, so if they try and reverse the points it will be interesting to see if they can also get them back from another account. Hopefully not as discussed above.

Also re payments over the past few days, I have had all mine process up until today (with today's just listed as authorization only)

How do you transfer [pending] QFF points from one BW account to another?
Well my guess is that they are pending - with the monthly sweep and all.

Real people, I of course just managed their accounts. Missus rang BW, reason was misuse of the account, no more info than that. Reason they must have been found is those 3 accounts did not have any activity on them in the last month which must have triggered something in the BW system, so I guess the lesson learned here is to keep using the accounts in any way you can. I lost Energy Aus and was looking for alternatives.

One alternative to Telstra I found, which mind you isn't ideal, is a Pepperstone trading account. You can deposit into your account in many ways using the BW card (directly, Mastercard SecureCode, Paypal etc) and all of these methods accept 1c transfers. I didnt test enough to see if there was any daily/time limits, or how much more stringent they Pepperstone would be on it because it is a trading account. The catch is you have to leave the money in your account for 60 days before you can withdraw it under a different method (ie not refunded onto the BW account) which is the reason I didnt pursue it. But if you are patient enough its an option for non Telstra people. Also a handy MS option for points earning credit cards but wont go too much into that

I think Brainseewey transferred points from one Qantas FF account to another, not from within BW.

I may have missed something, but why would lack of activity trigger BW to cancel the account? Surely any trigger would involve the presence of 1000s of 1c transactions, not the lack thereof?

I have checked the detail and they matched QFF number in the statement , after the first statement on 6 June showing points other statement not showing points anymore ( i understand they only show on first statement ) . Patiently wating for the whole month of June but no points post .

I am waiting to see if they post the points on Wednesday 6 July . if they do it will be 2 months of points worth .

+1 on this, I think its far more likely to be whatever you were doing before you stopped using the card that caused the problem.

Anyone else having trouble with Telstra payments today?
8 cards all failing!

Oh cough, just tried 3 of the cards at Woolworths and they all failed.

Craiglm, any news?

Yes ETA_2015:

My family, me, wife, son & daughter all have two cards each (standard & platinum).
So 8 cards in total.
All living at the same address.
All cards stopped working at the same time.

I contacted Bankwest to find out why the cards had stopped working.
I was informed it was because I was using both the standard and platinum card.
I was told that I needed cancel one and the hold would be removed from the other card.

We all had to contact Bankwest and cancel the platinum card.
The 4 standard cards are now working again.

Were we randomly selected? I don't know.
Why us and not others? I don't know.
We have all had 2 cards each for a long time now.

I must say that I find Bankwest's ways of doing business to be very poor and random.
There was no warning. No phone call. No letter. Just the cards placed on hold.

Oh and there was no mention by Bankwest of micro payments (which have now resumed).

Cheers
Craig

I just did the calculations on how many points you could possibly be generating at the moment... well done!

I've barely touched my card since EA won't allow 0.1c payments - I miss those points on the 5th of the month.
