Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

Hmmm, $10 to close the account over the phone apparently. To force a conversation with salespeople (formerly known as tellers) or in the hope that a significant proportion will just put off the task of closing the account and fees will add up? Bit of a and a bit of b, I suspect.

Is this based on what's in the T&C's or your actual experience? Would have thought they would get into trouble with refusing a request to close an account (given the monthly fee to keep an account open for a service you have now told them you dont want) and if you have no money in the account then where do they take it from!

Would be interested to hear of actual experience in this circumstance.

They said this? I couldn't see it in the Product Schedule (http://www.bankwest.com.au/library/pdf/PDS_20120824-144105.pdf). I guess I could walk down to a branch, but I'm a bit lazy...

Outstanding, I've found not one, but two of the companies I regularly have to pay accept 1 cent payments. Loving iMacro, there is something magical about watching my browser automatically make 50 payments.

Got my 10,000 points today. Joined when the promotion started and have been depositing $2000/month with next day auto transfer out to other online savings account.

Now to decide to close the account or attempt micro transaction....Mmm..

I've taken another photo (more privacy covered) to show what my 4th statement says:

- 10k bonus points
- 11 pages
- Nil points on transactions
- $2.50 spent @ 1c each (250 x5)
- "missing" 1,250 QFF.

just got the phone call from OPTUS confirming that I am making the 0.01 payments - they were worried about fraud and someone had stolen my CC - explained if someone had they wouldn't be paying my optus bill with it!!! He was ok and he is going to try and turn off the 50 SMS's I get a day confirming I have made payment of 0.01 each.

Used the online chat feature on Friday to try and get a statement issued. Was assured that I had been changed to monthly statements from quarterly, and that the first would generate overnight. I still can't see one.

I got a missed call from Optus today as well. I've DM'd Optus via Twitter asking what the call was about, there were no notes on my account explaining why they called. I replied explaining that it's probably them checking it's me making the $0.01 payments and the Bankwest promotion. Optus Twitter Team will put this note on my account and they won't bother me again :)

Does anyone know if it's possible to open a second account (to allow more than 50 transactions per day)? I asked in a branch and they said one per person so wondering f there's any way to get around this?

Do you have any "family members" who may wish to have a qff number and BW account. ;).

All you then need is YOUR optus bill and giving them just enough $$ to cover YOUR expenses....

I managed to get two but they removed my QFF number from my second one.

Still not sure if they're going to put it back, lol.

EDIT: One option to try is requesting a damaged card replacement - generally your existing card will continue to work till the expiry date is up. This opens the potential for 100 transactions a day.

EDIT 2: QFF number has been removed from both of my accounts.

As did mine.

Can anyone pass on this thing that is being used to run the multiple transactions?

Where in the online banking page do you go that shows you QFF number?
