Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

The Telstra bill that I get only mentions credit card payments, for which there is a fee, but not debit cards.
The only way that I can see to pay by debit card is through PayPal. That would avoid any fee, if applicable.

Does anyone know how PayPal might react to lots of small transactions going through? I wouldn't want to risk a PayPal account being closed.

Just select credit card payment on the 'pay my bill' webpage of Telstra and enter the Bankwest card details. It might be a debit card, but Telstra just accept it as a Mastercard (or whatever it is). So it's certainly working for me - to the tune of 50 transactions a day x 2 accounts.

Yep, and 1c is to small to get slugged with the fee so no fee. I did some testing and from memory 5c is where you are paying enough to get a fee.

Mine is still working fine on Telstra, I suggest doing a browser reset (clear cookies etc).

I pay in 5c increments and I'm not getting any fees charged from Telstra for those. Having said that, I don't exactly get through a large portion of the bill paying only $2.50 a day given it's a business bill of some $300-400! So there is always a credit card fee for the remaining amount at the end of the billing cycle.

I think it's time for your family to use their accounts to assist in paying this bill ;)

When I am at my families house next I intend to set them all up with QFF accounts and bankwest accounts. If I can harness the power of say, 10 accounts, then that's 75k points a month.

FWIW: Bankwest will not let you open a normal BW rewards account if you have two QFF ones.

Could someone PM me the macro please. Now that i have been credited the 10,000 points I'd love to give the macro a go to pay some bills.

Not sure if Optus is doing maintenance on accounts or if they've found a way for me to stop making payments online. When I make a payment (any amount), the payment doesn't get processed and it tells me that my Optus Billing Account number is invalid, my sister's account number works fine! I can log in to My Account fine and my Account Number hasn't changed. Mrmmm. Anyone else who is doing the $0.01 payments having any issues paying their account online and/or through the app?

I'm getting the invalid account no error too, they may be on to us!!

I also got this error last night. Rang their technical department who confirmed I had the correct account number and that there were no restrictions on my account that she could see so I should be able to make payments. I am about to try again shortly and if I have the same issue will be calling the accounts department as apparently they may have more info.

Still can't make payments on my account, getting the same error no matter what payment amount, can still make $0.01 payments on my sister's account.

On a trip away, so haven't used it since Friday morning, the day we left.

Will try again in 5 days!

Optus Soc Media Team don't know anything about the payment blocking, going to speak with them later today to try to get more info. Will keep you updated.

I'll be grocery shopping tonight so I'll be making 40+ separate payments there instead ;)

So looks like Optus has figured out what's going on by use of macro! :p .
The macro no longer works through Pay My Account as Optus is dynamically changing the text field names which means the macro cannot find where to input the text... have to input the text manually.

Making payments manually to my account is now showing the error: "The Amount you have entered exceeds the maximum amount accepted by Optus".
Making $0.01 payments to my sister's account is still going through.

Same for me, so whats our next target for these payments!!

Finished my three months of money shuffling so hopefully 10k points are soon to be mine.

Possible that Optus has found a way to stop/slow the payments. This must be costing Optus, Telstra, et al. a fortune in payment processing fees.
