Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

You don't really need all those options when you can only do 50 transactions a day (or are you managing to do 50 transactions per supplier?).
50 per supplier would be great! No, it's been evolving. I am trying to write scripts for myself and my partner and we have different suppliers. After the changes that Optus made I thought it sensible to have scripts for 2 suppliers for each of us. Also the restrictions such as the time delay and the amount to be paid led to trying out other suppliers. There is also another one that I have a script for but that requires a 5 digit captcha code to be entered for each so is a last resort.

I am with Vodafone and seems you need to leave it a couple of minutes between payments... Downloaded iMacro and recorded but couldn't see anywhere where you could tell it to delay for x minutes between each loop, so a bit of a pain in the butt....

Also once you pay the bill you might not get notification of another bill for a few weeks, what do you do while waiting for the next bill to come???

You can definitely put a wait in there but don't have the code in front of me.

Recieved my 8th statement since joining the BW ff group:

- 9 pages long
- Period of: Aug 12th / 25th
¿☆¿ QFF number: "none recorded"

▪ Transactions made: 200

Optus has blocked me from paying online. They suspect that i was a victim of fraud and now i have to go to a store and make payment

Same even though they spoke to me on 13 August (when account was locked) - I now have my monthly bill and can't pay it in the method i like - two phone calls didn't do anything today - so have lodged complaint via email - the bill is due 9 september so they have until approximately 5th before I go shopping for a new telco.

Nope, directly from the telstra website.

Thanks coles525.

Am I the only goose who can't seem to set up the macro for Telstra? Upon playing it back, in the screen where you type in the amount you want to pay, I keep receiving the following error

"Sorry, the information you've entered isn't valid or is incomplete. Please re-enter your details and try again."

Can anyone please shed some light?

Reverse fraud?
"Sir, we suspect that someone has taken your account details and is paying your bill off for you. We will keep the money and stop them from doing it ever again."

I also found it very tricky and gave up trying to use imacro. I resorted to writing vba code and getting it to work that way but even then my solution is clumsy as I'm no expert.

Can someone help me?
My first e-statement has come through and shows "Qantas points earned on transactions = 0" despite there being 11 pages of transactions.
Are the transactions only included for points 1 month in arrears so that I can expect them to appear on my statement next month? I have points earned on my balance so there's no problem with my QF link.

I don't really want to be following this up with Bankwest and drawing attention to my many 1 cent transactions if I can avoid it.

Thanks.

Update:
I notice that the balance points posted on 5 August and all of the transactions have been made since that date.
My thinking is that the statement is automatically sent when it reaches a specific length, 11 pages in my case. In which case the points will post, presumably, around 5 September.

Perhaps someone could just confirm my reasoning.

In my view Bankwest probably only calculate "bonus" transaction points monthly (or some other period). There are plenty of reports here about points not being on statement but appearing subsequently. So it would certainly appear likely that as at the time of statementing the calculation has not occurred but it will occur later. But I think we probably needs more data points to confirm this.

The transaction points normally get posted after the month has finished. Last month it was on the 4th. I didn't get any points on the first month, instead they credited them on the following months statement.

As far as I can tell that's exactly what it means and I can't imagine them stopping you. Personally I'd value those points at around $9K (2.5cpp). 3.65% tax free return isn't bad at all!

Hi All, in the top tax bracket so 47%... I have around 250k to park somewhere until I buy a house.. Does this offer mean 365K in QFF points per annum.. What is that worth in $$$...Will they let me do it?? Thks yr thoughts..

Just roughly did the sums, yes! 1000 QFF Per day = 365k per year (tax free!)

Did you end up doing this ccdes20, and did you get 1000 QFF per day?

Just upgraded to the platinum card in branch today and will have it in a week or so. Hopefully I will be able to put transactions through on both cards (platinum & my old regular card) and do 100 per day. Has anyone been able to confirm whether this will work?

I had a similar issue (it wouldn't let me pay online at all or via the phone). Just had a cough over online chat and they applied a credit for the bill amount. We'll see how it goes next month I guess.

Interestingly, I only did maybe 10 $0.02 transactions.

Does anyone know what (if any) the monthly fee is if you don't deposit $2000/mth?

It's mentioned here:
  • $0 monthly account fees when you deposit at least $2,000 per month (e.g. your salary)
but not covered in the PDS and I can't see it in the bank fees PDF either.

Apparently $6

4.1 Monthly Account Fee If the aggregate of deposits made to the account in a month up to close of business on the last business
day of the month is less than $2,000, a $6.00 Monthly Account Fee will be charged on the first business day
of the next month. This fee does not apply in relation to deposits before the end of the first full month after
the account is opened.
