Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

I'm curious as to how paying your bill is "malicious"

I'm struggling with this one as well.

Maybe it's similar to the "malice" of walking into the local council's bill payments counter and handing over the payment in sacks of five cent coins (traditionally it would be one cent coins).

I was making the bill payments using the Council's online payment gateway and they indicated that my actions resulted in them incurring costs. There was certainly no malicious intent on my part. I have ceased making small payments towards my council rates since their email advice today.

Local council today contacted me and threatened action if I continued to make small transactions when paying my council rates. They had previously contacted me and wished me well with the Bankwest promotion. Guess they have now changed their minds.

Hm, I wonder if you have the same council as me, they rang my wife today too. Apparently they are going to up the minimum amount, if it had been me rather than my wife I would have suggested they just do exactly that.

Except they are not legally required to accept more than $2 or $5 (total) in five cent coins.

Well here is my 1 cent worth on the alleged rorting. I have no idea why you lot have decided on one cent transactions. That is just asking for trouble. I have plenty of things to pay, such that I can do it at 10 points/$ or 5 points/$, as both best my next option of 3 points/$. Seems to me that pumping for 500 points/$ is a sure fire why to kill the golden goose. When the council ups the minimum payment, what will we be left with, $10? So 0.5 points/$.

Might have been nice to think before acting. Sure you've got 7500 points for a fee months. But the payoff would have been much greater longer term over many years.

Anyone know what this message from Optus payment means?

We are unable to determine that status of your transaction.

Have I been blocked or I am not waiting long enough between payments?

You're not waiting long enough between transactions, if paying the same amount, you need to wait 10 minutes between each transaction.

Hint: Choose a different payment amount each time to prevent the message from showing

For those paying bills on Telstra, how are you doing it?
Just tried with the macro and it comes up as this:
All the forms are being filled correctly on the first page, when it selects "continue", that is what comes up next....

Kangol - I've been getting that error (as well as the site running frustratingly slow) but only for the final 5-10 transactions. I just repeat another 10 at night (I run in the morning) and tend t get them all.

I'm not using the macro in the same way but that message seems to come up when the Continue button has not been successfully selected and submitted. I wasn't able to get around the problem with imacro, but others seem to have done so.

Thanks for the info Benjy that was the problem.

Thanks for the hint also.

Has anyone compiled a list of companies that are accepting 50 small payments a day online without hassle?

Cheers

I just logged onto my Bankwest account and all of my transactions are showing this "AUTHORISATION ONLY - EFTPOS PURCHASE AT OPTUS BILLING PAY MY BMACQUARIE PAR AU"

Also all of my transactions past todays date are missing.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Not using optus, but authorisation only (telstra) is normal for todays spending.

Previous day spends are:

TELSTRA BILL PAYMN
MELBOURNE AUS

I thought "authorisation only" is what i would see for todays transactions. So that is correct.

But I can't find any transactions for the last 3 days which is when I started using the card.
They were there yesterday, now they are not listed at all, although the "available balance" reflects that the money has been taken.

Will wait and see what it shows tomorrow.

Cheers

If youve just started using the card, could take a few days to actually show as a normal transaction.

Yeah that maybe it. I guess i'm just used to Commbanks Netbank showing everything in real time.

Thanks for the advise, I'll let you know what happens.

I had a similar thing happen to me about a week ago. Had 300 transactions disappear for a couple of days. They showed up in the transaction list eventually so no issues. What you will probably see is the balance in the transaction list will be more than what your account summary is saying if that makes sense.
