Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

Just re-upgraded to the platinum card in branch (different branch to my regular one). Should have 4 cards going in a week or so.

General comment: Why cant BW app users who login via the phone/app can't view statements or even contact them?

- can't remember pan (saved in app)
- trying many options but not correct
- overseas, so dont have a statement
- refuse to spend on calling them to get my pan.

Serious?

Assholes lied to me.

Perhaps the person who helped me, didn't realise that Qantas Transaction account holders could only get orange, because their standard debit cards are supposed to have the Qantas logo on them. If I remember correctly though, ordering a new card through BOB did have the option of a colour, but whether or not you would actually get the colour you ordered, instead of orange, I don't know.

Can anyone say from experience, that transferring sufficient funds between two Qantas Transaction accounts owned by different people, will both avoid the monthly account fee and not adversely affect your ability to earn the 10,000 sign-up points?

Stop bragging;)

It's not a competition to see who can get the most cards. It's about getting the most points!

I think I hold that record for now with my 22,000 points per account in a single month. Two cards on each though. Not entirely sure what I did to get that many (yet).

Sue ... and yes ... 10K each ...

Just gotta set up that pay anybody limit ...

I signed up for the Qantas Transaction account + 10000 point bonus offer very late in October. I received the card in the mail in early November.

Have I squandered the 10000 point bonus by not making my first $2000 before the end of the calendar month in which I signed up (October), and instead waited until I received the card in the mail?

No i don't think you have missed out on the promo. As long as you have signed up before the 31st and have made at least 2k deposit for 3 months you should be eligible.

I signed up in October so i am yet to receive my 10K points as well.

Here is the terms of the offer again:

I suppose my question is whether or not the first three months are considered to be:

A - The first three calendar months (remainder of October, November, December)
B - The first three full calendar months (November, December, January)
C - The first three 30 day periods from signup

I'm in the clear if it's interpreted as B or C. A post earlier in this suggests it's B.

Today, I had some travelling to do, and along the way, 'visited' five different Coles stores ...

I racked up something like 600 transactions !!

But I still only have the one card on each account.

What would others think, about attempting to request a 'second' card to each of these accounts ? Would they look up my transaction history, and would that set the 'bells ringing' ??

What would you need a second card for if you're just doing Coles transaction and they appear to be unlimited?

D) I would assume there would be a 30 days window to make your first $2000 deposit from the time you activate (and or receive) your card. It would seem more logical and fair on the customer.

Bankwest would be understanding say if you activated your card on the 31st October, so i don't read it as having to deposit the $2000 in October as the promotion allows you to apply for this product by the 31st October.

Correct: I was told the first month was from date if opening, then every new month starts on the 1st of each month (ie: $2k by the end of every month).

I don't think so. After my account was opened in mid-October, I phoned them with a few questions and specifically asked whether I needed to make a deposit in the first (partial) month regarding the 10,000 points promotion, and was told no. But to be safe, I did deposit the required funds that month anyway.

Regarding the Monthly Account Fee section 4.1 in the T&C's states ...This fee does not apply in relation to deposits before the end of the first full month after the account is opened.

Given the amount required to be deposited for the promotion is the same amount required to avoid paying the monthly account fee, I suspect the two are linked. (i.e. both true or both false)

Having said all that, why couldn't they just have said, first three full calendar months instead of first three months, so there was no ambiguity!

I got 20,000 this month so I'm not far behind you.

Aren't you both forgetting this guy/girl.

Hi All, in the top tax bracket so 47%... I have around 250k to park somewhere until I buy a house.. Does this offer mean 365K in QFF points per annum.. What is that worth in $$$...Will they let me do it?? Thks yr thoughts..

That's 1,000 points per day before any Telstra or Coles action. So at least 31,000 for October if the deposit actually occurred.

And finally,

Today, I had some travelling to do, and along the way, 'visited' five different Coles stores ...

I racked up something like 600 transactions !!

And that's 3000 points or so in one day!

You're right !

Why would I NEED two cards on each account ? I would still be standing in front of a Coles machine listening to "Use keypad to finalise your transaction" over and over again ...

4 cards per account? Or do you have family members who have accounts?

I just went to the website, can't see anything about a Platinum Transaction account?
