Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

Would anyone involved in the BW 1c transaction program have a link to download the program for an Apple computer? I'm asking for a co worker, who is opening some family accounts over the weekend.

Please private message me if you require more info on what Im on about, you you have a link for firefox/apple version of the thing. :)

You do NOT need a program. If you have a firefox or chrome get the iMacros extension (it's free), once set up make sure you insert WAIT SECONDS command in the macro to give time for the form/buttons to load.

Hi, everyone.

After weeks and weeks of emailing and phoning Bankwest, talking to different representatives and (senior) managers and trying to sort it out, I lodged a dispute with FOS. It was long overdue and it wasn't even about the points for me anymore, but a matter of principle.

I ended up receiving a call from Customer Relations a couple of weeks ago and had a nice, long chat with the representative. Among other things, I was asked how come I didn't click the link in the promotional email (which is what Bankwest insisted on throughout the process) and I replied that I'm not comfortable with clicking links with so many scams going on (I didn't even remember to mention that even emails from Bankwest advise against clicking links). I was told the management was in a meeting at that time, but that it will be looked into as the information provided clearly shows that I should get the points. It was nice to have a normal conversation with someone who didn't attack me (although I was asked about all the notes in my account; there must be heaps by now), but understood and explained how things went.

I was also told that some rules about the promotions are to be changed, e.g. minimum payments, which the management was discussing at the time. Just a heads up.

Finally, I was asked to forward the promotional email I received from Qantas, which I did, and was just advised, with apologies, that I shall receive the points I'm eligible for.

Doing some quick math... If you win Saturdays lotto and put all $20 million into the account you can earn a cool 2.4million points a month (80,000/day). Don't recall there being an upper limit for earning points in the T&C's?

;)

gogo

Might as well. Since the last RBA cut, interest paid on most accounts has gone even further down. :(

I'm keeping mine open for now. I toyed with with the idea of having my pay go straight into that account (I'm about to ditch CommBank), but for now I'll just keep cycling $2K+ through it each month to avoid the monthly fee.

No issues here. Still going strong. Latest statement I received yesterday had over 25k pts earned for transactions in Feb. I would think they'll hit my QFF account on Thursday.

Yep just playing it safe. 50 per day. No complaints really, it's a good little earner (although I'm building credit in a service I don't really need!)

FOS gave BW 28 days to respond to me ( negotiate ).

Time has passed, and no contact.

Expecting FOS to now 'decide' on the situation.

As somebody previously stated ... don't expect fast action from FOS.

FOS Can't really do much if the bank decide not to play, I.e. there are not really "actions" they can take. Their main leverage is that over time charges for unresolved complaints increase but then sometimes the banks just decide the complainant is a nuisance complainant and wear the costs to get rid of them. Some might suggest you are in this category, I.e. The bank was perfectly entitled to drop you as a customer under its T&Cs and you are just using the complaints process to be a nuisance.

Yeah the FOS is useless. When the bank decided they want to be cough, they're allowed to be cough.

I'm now at about 12 months with an FOS complaint with Citi. They're 110% in the wrong however aren't playing ball (and have destroyed evidence ie: call centre recordings). The FOS themselves are very much dragging their feet.

As I said before, let this one go and win via another avenue.
