Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

Yeah the FOS is useless. When the bank decided they want to be cough, they're allowed to be cough.

I'm now at about 12 months with an FOS complaint with Citi. They're 110% in the wrong however aren't playing ball (and have destroyed evidence ie: call centre recordings). The FOS themselves are very much dragging their feet.

As I said before, let this one go and win via another avenue.

Are you sure they destroyed them? Most banks only record around 5-10% of calls. Citi is one that does this.

Does anyone else here have both the QFF transaction account, as well as one of the two QFF credit cards? (I know the answer is yes BUT!).....

Friends Qantas account is showing:

05 MAR 15
BANKWEST TRANSACTION ACCOUNT 05MAR15
-
26,398

BUT, only earnt (on the bankwest statement!) less then 14,000 points.

I'm thinking that BW have now combined both the credit card earn and the transaction earn when transferred to QFF? The last few months, on the 5th of each there has been 2 seperate "deposits". One for cc, other for transaction. Yesterday, didn't occur!

I would be surprised if they only did 10%. Technology exists these days to relatively cheaply record all calls; they are indexed can be retrieved using date, time, agent, customer, account etc.

99% sure. While I was dealing with "supervisors" in Manila they were quoting statements from the recording. As soon as Citi in Sydney took over, the recordings were "unable to be located".

They're probably in discussions with FOS directly to have the complaint dismissed.

The banks also like to wait until the last day and then request an extension. The FOS will give them another month "as it is important that the provider fully considers this complaint".

Certainly with a few of my complaints over the years they have told me they have listened to my calls, and that was a reason they were accepting my complaint! (WBC, Citi, ANZ)

This is actually moving quicker than I thought it would ...

FOS sent me an ( online ) letter, to advise, that they have examined the situation.

They ( thus far ) have considered that BW have been justified in their 'right' to close my account ( for the reasons already well stated ).

However, the FOS have advised that I may wish to provide a further statement, to demonstrate exactly how BW have applied their T&Cs toward me. That is, how they have chosen me ( above others ), to apply the full force of the T&Cs.

There is some repetition in correspondence from both FOS & BW - with reference to the BW's T&Cs ( the 'we can close accounts for any reason' etc. ).

So, I'm still putting my point-of-view forward to both organisations ...

Interesting, but am not sure how you are supposed to know why they have chosen you over others, that's information BW have but I doubt they will tell you. While we suspect its because you were at the extremes, that is just speculation! Personally I would suggest this has reached a dead end (i.e. you cant actually provide any more info aside from anecdotal with no strong evidentiary support) but lets see.

Perhaps of more interest to the rest of us, despite rumours of changing T&C's nothing appears to have happened, no-one else has been closed down as far as I am aware.

Damn, finally got contacted by my ISP (iiNet) telling me to stop paying in 1 cent payments, failing which they would terminate my services.

Anyone got a Telstra account they wouldn't mind me contributing to?

Thanks again for your interpretations there BURMANS ...

I think a few people are wondering, if you are actually a covert for BankWest ??

But anyway, as you would know, my new tactic is to claim 'discrimination' ...

As you and others have pointed out, there doesn't seem to be anybody else who had their account terminated ...

Burmans is just a realist. Give up and find something else to scam! Open an account in a relative's name.

But, it's fun to watch, so good luck with the reply.

Probably were purged as opposed to deleted.

serfty - I agree with you that the tech exists and is cheap. CBA record close to 100% (so do BW) excluding tech issues.
