Four months later and both cards still working.

My (somewhat recent) experience is that they automatically cancel the first card .. because they will ask you what happened to it.. unless you have a good reason as to why you want/need a second card. What was the reason?

Not sure that quite describes the Optus problem, it allows 1c payments, maybe even 10-15 payments based on reports to date.

Yeah, what a shame. I got 10 payments of varying amounts this morning and have got another 10 in tonight, but fail on the 11th payment. 11 hours difference in between payments (10 each time). So unsure what the minimum wait time between payments is, but it looks like hours, not the 15 mins previously.

Also interested in list of merchants that accept small payments. Is Telstra still good?

Waited an hour and Optus won't let me make any more payments - Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. 50 points a day is still good.

This is worse than I first thought. It appears to be a limit of 10 transactions per Optus account not per card.
So from 1000 points a day down to 50 ....... OUCH.

Anyone tried Origin Energy?

I can't recall the answer to this one but what was the outcome of you request a new card because the old card is damaged? Do they send a new card complete with new number etc or simply an exact copy of the "damaged" card?

This however is (slightly) good news if you have multiple Optus accounts!

Hopefully the RBA proposals, announced today, won't kill the golden goose, that lays the golden eggs, that are this account's QFF points earn rate for all.

Well, this isn't a credit card so I suspect it wont kill this particular idea off.

It locks out after 10 payments to the account. Switching to another CC doesn't overcome it. I'd say that qualifies as a cooked goose.

I couldn't get iMacro working for Optus so I won't be able to set automatic transactions every 6 hours, I was doing the transactions manually every day (knew my CC number of by heart).
