Hi , don't know if anyone else has had this problem- I travel monthly and have always printed my boarding passes at home. I recently purchased a new printer ( HP Office Jet Pro 8500A ) and the barcodes print with some grey shaded areas in them. I have adjusted the print quality settings and made sure the document wasn't over enlarged , however nothing helps. Any suggestions?

Have you got the latest printer driver?

Otherwise don't bother with printing. Just check in online and hand over the Qantas FF card and they scan the barcode on the back of that and print a little docket with your seat number.

Has the heads been alligned, that can cause issues with bar code printing, I would just use the FF card though if it was me.

This is what I have been doing for a long time now - now not printing (doing my bit for the environment prior to get on a jet plane...) and just using the card - really easy and easy if you havent got access to a printer immediately.

Thankyou so much for the replies. I have checked all the printer issues and it is all ok. I am going to do as you suggest and scan my card at the gate - should have been doing this all along!
