Just saying hello and hanging out in Bejing for the next couple of days.

Anyone have some suggestions for "carry on" sized quality luggage? I heard Samsonite are pretty good and do have some stores around here - any others?

Thanks

Welcome aboard vincitytaymodaio, what sort of carry on are you after? 2 wheel roll aboard, 4 wheel spinner, hard or soft side, a backpack maybe- or a soft duffel bag

If you give a bit more info I’m sure there will be some suggestions..

I use a samsonite cosmolite 4 wheel spinner and have been happy with it - it is too big for dash 8s and being a clam shel can be a pain to access stuff inflight

Head to the ‘Pearl Market’ in PEK and you will be able to see every offering of ‘carry on’ luggage known to mankind - of course you will only pay ¥120 - ¥200 for items that will easily do your job for 3 or 4 years - buy 2 in fact so you have a back up.

Asking what others reco really a waste of time - go lookee and choose what you like and what you believe will suit you.

IMHO of course.

Indeed Silk Market used to be far superior - still some luggage there but virtually all the fake clothes gone - except jeans you can still buy them - but for overall shopping Pearl Market is the go.

I was last in Pearl Market in May and still going strong. I bought a Tumi knock-off in SH 2 weeks ago for ¥150 and it is just perfect.

Having said that the way the Chinese Austhorities are decimating so many western attractions Pearl Market could disappear any time as did the Sunlitan Market in BJ and the Nanjing Lu Market in SH
