Hi,

I'm thinking about joining the Velocity Frequent Flyer Program, however I have no idea and very confusing.

How much do you have to spend on a credit card to get a domestic ticket from Mel - Syd or Cairns for example ?
Which credit card (I already have an Amex Plat Edge card - KF miles) are the best out there ?
Any other benefits to be an Velocity Frequent Flyer Member ? Hotel discount ??

Thanks

Hi flight2010,

Depends on which credit card. There are threads here on AFF which discuss CC benefits at length, but basically a domestic MEL-SYD reward flight will cost you 8800 points. With for example the AMEX Velocity platinum card, you can gain 3 points per $ spent with Virgin or 1.5 points per dollar elsewhere. There are other options though like a points + pay arrangement (up to $46 + 4400 points for MEL-SYD).

Given that Velocity is a free membership, I guess any of the programme is a benefit, but like anything, the different programmes will be worth different things to different people.

How you can earn points and the benefits offered, are all on the Velocity web site. https://www.velocityrewards.com.au/content/index.htm Have a read of that first, check for relevant threads here (I find the search function on this site works pretty well) and any specific questions please feel free to ask. The trouble is, your question is so broad ranging, I doubt anyone can really answer it without reproducing the Velocity site here!
