I was thinking about the best person, I have ever had to sit next to on a flight, and what about the worst.

And just to make it fun, who would be your dream passenger to have to sit next to.

For me other than (Dr H She who must be obeyed) it was Sir Gustav Nossal a great Australian and a nice Man.

The worst was a women from the USA, who was just so up herself, she was not happy with anything the FA did (my drinks not right, my food not good, just constant complaining) it was only a short flight MEL BNE as I left the plane, I did say to the FA I had been on most of the US airlines and not one was as good as Qantas.

And my dream would be Nelson Mandala; I just think he would be nice to chat to for an Hour or two.

Is there are a prize for most threads started in a week? Or most "best and worst" thread? If so, I'm way behind!

Best person is no one. Worst person is fat, stinky, loud, vomiter.

Who farts and flabs over into your seat (whilst in business!)

Best well there has been a few nice people sat next to me over the years, pleasant young lady traveling to Japan was Kewl, a guy who ended up sat next to me twice over a three month period was fun, we had never met before, or since.

Worst well the guy on the Red Eye from Perth on Saturday night who insisted on having his reading light, TV and Lap Top on the entire trip was pretty bad but the worst was a giant of a person (never did work out if male or female) from LAX to NYC, they were so big they sat on the arms of the chair and leaned on the back of the chair in front and their head was near the rof. I sat on a 45 degree angle the whole flight and AA staff did nothing about it they never wore a belt and should never have been allowed on in a single economy seat in the first place. Was the flight from hell.

Dream flight, I would love to sit next to and chat with Gene Simmons from Kiss on a flight, but I doubt he ever fly's in my class.

The best is either Mrs Harvyk, or an empty seat...

The worst was a PER-SYD red-eye where the rather unattractive middle aged man kept "cuddling" up to me. He saw nothing wrong with using my headrest as his "pillow"... Needless to say I spent most of that flight huddled up against the window.

In my own defense, all the post where not in one week however if there is a prize, I hope I win I never win anything and would love a Davy Crockett hat.:D

Recently flying LAX/SFO sat next to one of the largest guys I've seen, he as humungous, the seatbelt extender just fitted and this poor guy sat there with rolls of fat protruding over the armrests and his stomach was the size of few footballs, no way could he put his table down so we lent him ours. Glad it was only a short flight :).

Oddly it happened to me on the same flight! (damn you AA for sticking me in the middle, down the back of the plane when they gave me an upgrade to first on the previous BOS-MIA leg lol) Ying and yang I guess!

MIA-SXM on one side with this delightful older gentleman who'd been living in Sint-Maartin for years. Originally from the Twin Cities, we talked about Saint Martin (he was giving me a lot of tips and things to do et cetera), as well as Minneapolis (I was there for a rugby tournament the previous year and had basically an awesome near perfect week there) and general stuff - just a great chat with a random

On the other side was a crazy lady from Philly. I can handle lots of things but crazy I struggle with lol. She wasn't awful, just a little... Bipolar for lack of a better term. It didn't help her previous flight had been cancelled due to Hurricane Maria and she was probably a little more crazier then usual due to it.

I think it is interesting topic, best seat mate has been different AFFers over the years.

Worst is a person who must have been eating something that gave off a very bad smell; not sure what it was, lucky that was only a 1hour Brisbane Sydney flight.

I know of one AFFer who won't be replying to this thread.;)

Best: Firass Dirani on a Virgin America flight from JFK to LAX in premium economy. The series of Underbelly that he had starred in had recently finished airing on Ausralian TV. My wife and I and Firass spent the whole 6 hours drinking red wine and chatting. He was already sitting in his seat when my wife and I sat down and when he heard our Aussie accents, he seemed really happy about it. I wasn't sure who he was at first, but my wife had watched the whole series on the flight over from MEL-LAX and instantly recognised him. One of the nicest people I have ever met. He had just finished filming a movie with Robert De Niro and was going to give Hollywood one more shot to see if he could make it, but he was already homesick and conceded that he would probably head home to Sydney in the not too distant future and he had no shortage of screen offers back home. He did and look where he is now. He didn't realise that in Y+, everything was free until we told him. Red wine was flowing and he did not go to the bathroom once in 6 hours. Amazing effort which I commended him on as we were disembarking and he laughed. Terrific guy. Cannot speak highly enough of him.
Worst: huge woman, massive. On a flight BNE-MEL in an exit row. I was in the aisle seat, she was in the middle and her very skinny, small husband was on the window. Why she couldn't have sat in the window seat and made her husband absorb her 'largeness' instead of me still infuriates me. It was a 9am flight and I hope my stinking hangover and subsequent body fumes annoyed her, because she annoyed me.

If you're thinking about who I think you're thinking about, I think they won't be replying to anymore best and worst threads. :p  ;)

To answer the OP: the non-corporeal seat mate and the elbow in ribs seat mate.

I do hope i live long enough to understand the AFF secret code. I'm still working on knowing what the abbreviations are :D

Best: There is a woman that I met travelling. By coincidence we often end up sitting in the same row on domestic flights. Always have a great chat with her. Became friends outside of travelling.

Worst: Anyone that overflows into my seat. Someone with bad BO or little old ladies that seem to be drenched in some awful perfume. Generally I would be looking to move seats in those situations.

Best: My son.

Worst: My son.

Any parent out there who's travelled with their kids knows what I'm talking about!

Best: The girl I got together with
Worst: That same girl after we broke up 6 months later.

posted with my tongue only partially in cheek.......

Why would you want to waste a good lunch with someone who is a CONVICTED terrorist. Whose wife by the way almost got away with murder.

I'd rather sit in the magpies coaches box during the grand final.

Youre THAT serious??? (many emoticons to indicate humour in case someone misinterprets!)
