Is this still the best credit card option to earn QFF points.

American Express Rewards Maximiser $1 = 1 1/2 points
Citibank Visa $1 = 1 point (No Annual Card Fees Ever)

Does anyone have a better combination?

For O/S travel a Wizard Clear Advantage M/C is good for cash.

Note that Citybank Silver card is shortly to go 2 City points to 1 QFF redemption.

The Qantas Amex (base) card could become a contender:

American Express

$0 annual fee.
1 point per $ (no capping)
2 points per $ for Qantas Merchant account spends.

That's silver, not gold. Was printed on my last statement and mention on this forum:

If anyone needs a link to the Amex Rewards Maximiser or Citibank Gold Fee Free for life of card email me and I will give it to you. I am unable to post the link here as I do not have enough posts.

hullo everyone, I have been using the citibank card to gather ff points and to my dismay have found that you are only allowed to accrue 60,000 per year and only can use 60 000 in any one year. IMHO you can't fly far on that amount of points. Any ideas for accruing points with other cards would be much appreciated.

You could get a platinum card which gives you up to 120,000 points a year (but the fee is higher). Sticking with Visa or Mastercard unlimited cards are few on the ground.

In terms of the Amex options, we switched from the Amex Rewards Maximiser to the Amex Qantas Ultimate card as it gives 1.5 points/$ and 2.5 pts/$ on Qantas spend. While it has a high annual fee (~$395 if I remember correctly) it includes a free domestic return flight and travel insurance.
I therefore no longer have to spend close to $500/year on TI and get the free flight, so it seems a better bet.

Reliable annual travel insurance can be obtained for much less than $500 per year; Become a gold meber of this website and you are looking at $200!

As far as I am concerned 1 Amex MR point is generally far more useful than 1 QFF point. AT least you can hang on to them and use when required. I dislike the Amex cards which convert directly to QFF points.
